Heard he gave his two week notice. Going help Trev Faulk at the new charter school in Lafayette. Lafayette Renaissance? I assume. It’s on the frontage road on I-49 right off the Pont Des Mouton exit (across the street from an auto place) so it’s a 5 minute or less drive from LCA (probably a 15 minute walk if you go toward the back entrance). Anyway, I’m personally gonna wait on official word comes out from either party. If it is legit, which it could be for all I know, I don’t know what direction LCA goes next for a next hire.

I know two families who pulled their kids for the charter school due to the football program not being good. They are now at Carencro. They should look at trying to get back in. Lafayette Renaissance will be a state power in a few years. LCA, Carencro, Teurlings, Cecilia, Breaux Bridge, and others may all take a hit. LCA was able to attract athletes from a large area due to the location being right at the intersection of I-10 and I-49, even with students having to pay tuition. And most of them to play for Trev Faulk and his staff. Lafayette Renaissance is a charter school in walking distance from LCA…and tuition free. And word is that just about the entire LCA football staff is making the move. I’ve already heard a few names of kids who will be heading to LRC in the fall, some from LCA but some others from other area schools as well. I’ve been told a couple different reasons regarding why this is happening so I’m not sure what’s true and what isn’t. So I won’t mention any of that here for the time being.

Very interesting. I know two families who pulled their kids for the charter school due to the football program not being good. They are now at Carencro. They should look at trying to get back in. Lafayette Renaissance will be a state power in very short time. LCA, Carencro, Teurlings, Cecilia, Breaux Bridge, and others will all take a hit, especially LCA. I would guess that their days of being an elite program are just about over. I’ve already heard quite a few names of kids who will be heading to LRC in the fall. Mostly from LCA but some others from other area schools as well. I’ve been told a couple different reasons regarding why this is happening so I’m not sure what’s true and what isn’t. So I won’t mention any of that here for the time being. Yes, you are 100% correct. The schools mentioned will take a huge hit , especially LCA !! I was told a few reasons as well why this is happening. I’ll stay quiet for now.

And that priority access is at least somewhat regulated by the state and has to be given before any lottery every year. I believe it is not guaranteed acceptance for a student applying primarily for athletics. I believe kids are going to want to play for Coach Trev, who can blame them? However, there may be some enrollment drawbacks to offset the plus of a free public school. The irony here is they will be in the same district as LCA, if memory serves me right.

I have not spoken with any of the parties involved but I doubt there is much animus from either. I could be wrong but I think both parties benefitted from the time Trev was there. What happens with LCA's football program going forward will hinge largely on who the new coach is.

Called it 5 yrs ago that they would go down the same trajectory Evangel did. I just looked at Evangel’s past and present record . What happened ? Greed led to disfunction. A split between the supporters and Calvary was born. Also, other schools in area stepped up and committed to getting better while all that was going down. Other reasons people stopped enrolling also, but Greed started it all.

I do know that whomever it is will have a lot to work with for at least the next couple seasons. I guess the years following that will depend on who the new coach is, and if kids want to come and play for him and his staff. It was known well in advance that Trev was stepping down. Hunter leaving was a surprise, at least as far as I know, so it’s more of just a coincidence that coaches have left after consecutive seasons. There are some good football coaches still on staff, and a ton of good football players in the next couple of graduating classes, so whomever gets the job should have a lot of success.

I just heard LCA fired a top defensive coach. He will end up with Trev from what I hear.
