i heard he wants to leave berwick for patterson. if they hire him he better go get all the kids out the hallways and get them on the field to play football. we can’t have 38 kids on the roster anymore. we need 60 kids out for football.

There are over 40 applicants at Beekman with a combined 75 teeth. Hopes are high.

Word is that Peabody is getting a lot of applicants and several are white. Going to be interesting to see which direction they choose to go and if they stay in-house or go outside.

That's amazing how you say Peabody has so many applicants. The job is not even posted on the portal. No one can apply until it does and she isn't posting it until after the holidays.

I'm sure several have sent their resume or called to express their interest. That's normal, but you made it sound like they had a big list of applicants when the job isn't even posted. That is all I was stating. Keep Calm and Roll On!

And there have been several.

I don't need you to type slow because I am educated. If they sent her a resume, then they are interested in the job. They are not an applicant till they apply which means they fill out an application. Not everyone applies that expresses interest.

The only time most Head Coaches fill out an application is after they have been offered and accepted the job and its part of their paperwork they have to complete.

Just watched Div4 dome game last night. The HC on record for LCA is a guy named Baldwin. He received LCA's gift football from LHSAA before the game. He was interviewed at halftime (talk about deer in the headlights look), so he will go down in history as the head coach who won LCA's first state championship and not Trev Faulk. However, he did not coach, not even a little bit on the sidelines. What's going on with this situation? Seems very odd to me.

Guess as good as ours maybe SawThatWood will have some insight since he’s in the area but LCA seems to bend every single rule there is without a slap on the wrist yet

In high school football an on staff faculty member must be the head coach in certain sports and football is one of those sports. Baldwin is the "Head Coach" because he is the faculty member but Trev is the head coach of the team. So, yes, Baldwin will go down on paper as winning and on his record not Trev. Also according to the LHSAA the head coach on paper must be the one to accept the awards and to do the interview. You see this a lot with the smaller schools that do not have large numbers of teaching spots. Hope this helps.

Sources say that FP DC is not going to Beekman. What Sources? From what I understand, the most credible source would be the Franklin Parish DC.

Steven Wharton has been the HC the last few years since the Justin Fruge fiasco and he retired before this school year, they then eliminated his teaching position which made it impossible to hire a new BB coach. I had seen that Doyle Carter, the football coach, would double as the boys coach this season. It made sense since he has a basketball background as a coach and player even though his primary sport is football. After watching their game against Welsh the other day and talking to players it's very clear that he is the HC in nothing more than title. The real HC is non staff asisstant Devaughn Davis, a Elton alum and former star basketball player

Beekman Charter offered Purvis but he declined (why you would interview for a job you don't want is beyond me) so next up
