Outdated rule that shouldn't be in place. Kid's not making any money so he should be able to retain amateur status. There's a total of 90 LHSAA athletes competing in the Texas Relays. He's only different because he chose to compete against the pros in the elite division. He was ok with not being eligible in pole vault, but stopping him from competing at the state meet in the 100M and long jump would have been ic by the LHSAA.
By the way, he never competed in the 100M until the Parish Relays and won it going away. Kid's a superstar athlete that will continue to compete on the world stage yearly and will be in the Olympics. The LHSAA should be bending over backwards to make sure he competes in as many Louisiana meets as possible because he will bring a crowd. Kid's like this are good for the sport in Louisiana.

In the LHSAA the rules are not meant to follow.
