Darkhorse that NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT... And yes, I'll call it now... Red River Bulldogs... Coach Bachman Sr. With no zones, legal recruiting and no tuition in public schools Bachman Sr will be a force to recon with. He will have Red River in a league with Many and Kinder in no time. Red River isnt doing anything they haven't ever done before. They are the only high school in the parish (with the exception of the Riverdale that plays in the the same league as Glenbrook). Every kid in that parish must go to Red River unless they choose the private school. They are not recruiting or crossing zones. Everything is legal.

I believe that Many will be the non-select team in 2A. Shacori Collier, committed to army, is not only a force to be reckoned with but he is a great young man and great student. Many has a sopre QB who I believe will put up better numbers before this year and for sure by the end of his HS career then any QB ever at Many. He is a hard worker and has really been groomed for the position. The thing though that I am excited about is the Many defense, they are gonna be fun to watch and I believe that the defense as a whole will be stronger and better than ever before. I post this message with great emotion and passion for a group of boys that I had been a part of and have loved for a long time and I really believe in them. I’m gonna miss being down there on the sidelines among them!!! Love you Many Tiger Boys and the awesome class of 2019.

And I have to agree about Collier Comitting to any service Academy deserves respect because you have to full fill a commitment to your country after that. I've heard a few kids get offers from them and didn't wanna go because you had to serve your time after that.

Neither Jonevils. I was part of the broadcast team but I have been replaced so I will utilize the season ticket I pay for and have paid for for a lot of years to support our program. So I will be leaning against the press box watching from top row of the bleachers! Lol

Let me clear that up. I was never a paid member of the broadcast team. I worked the sidelines for a lot of years only as a volunteer because I loved Many football so much. I was a paid employee of the radio station and I footed all of my own expenses to, from and during the games, including the years we went to the dome. I have just always wanted to be loyal to and support the Many program. So when I say replaced I don’t mean I was terminated. The radio staff has been very good to me!

He makes me proud and he is not even a relative. Just a young man I have had the privilege of being around since he was in elementary school because I have a son in the same senior class.

2A should be as fun a any class. Many seems to be strong this year as any of the previous, that says a lot when you lose a Power 5 RB and maybe even better, but that team has grown a ton literally and figuratively.
I’m anxious to see if any team can get over the proverbial hump on either side or will it remain the same contenders come thanksgiving wknd.
As of now odds on favorites I see would be Many, Welsh, Amite. Was impressed with kinder when I saw them last year but would like to see if they are as strong up the middle this year.
Select side, I actually have Newman as a favorite but I think they are susceptible to a run heavy ball control offense that can keep their explosive offense on the sideline. With that said CHS-NI and ND-Crowley I wouldn’t want to play until late as possible if I were a greenie fan. Riverside will take a step back. How far back, we’ll they play Southern Lab at home week one which should be a nice litmus test. St. Helena just lost a ton of playmakers on both sides of the ball, they are looking up at Amite this year.
Don’t see anything of a threat in my area(Baton Rouge) although Northeast(are they still 2a?) always has a knack of winning a playoff game or two.

The irony of this post is not lost on me. Hopefully my alter ego understands what you just said and will explain it to me. I think what he means is that it's ironic that private school people complain about open borders and recruiting. I guess he doesn't realize public schools do the same thing as privates.

I have seen examples of recruiting on all sides. But just like Indy you seem completely consumed with the whole private/public debate. Try talking football it''s a lot of fun. Now let me explain my comment to you two since it's seemed to go so far over your heads that you couldn't see it with a telescope. I'll break it down very slowly to make sure you can keep up. Indy said my attempt at humor wasn't funny. Then I replied that the irony of that comment was not lost on me. That is a commonly used phrase that pretty much means I'm seeing a lot of irony here. The irony I saw was because Indy said my attempt at humor wasn't funny but he is a grown man who pretty much just parrots his expression over and over thinking it's funny. I'll admit when he keeps it light and just trolls people with it he can be a little funny. But the fact that he throws it around like some kind of trump card in all arguments removes all humor and just seems tired and like a bad replacement for anything of actual substance. And the whole expression doesn't even work in the context he uses it in but I guess asking for humor on a message board to follow any level of logic is an exercise in futility.
