Live Oak 0-2 vs Franklinton and Slidell. lost 21-7 against Franklinton and not sure on Slidell, a weather delay happened numerous times.
Not a top 10 team.
I watch them alot. Running back is good, and defense is pretty good. Maybe 2 division I players on team. They were fortunate to beat Sulphur and East Ascension in playoffs last year.

ND -STM were pretty evenly matched. ND scored twice on long drives. Held STM down for the most part then they scored twice right at the end with two long bombs.

Opelousas catholic will be a solid team and they have good size up front. Their strength looks to be in the passing game with the big TE and a good wide reciever. Kinder was playing without three starters on offense but did move the ball thru the air and on the ground. There were many 5 or 10 play sets with 1st and second team O and D so i didnt keep up with scoring. OC did have some big pass plays for scores, where kinder mostly scored on the running game. Think kinder offense will be better than last year, defense needs some tweaking.

I didn't make it out there today because i roll out pretty early on work days but i'll be at the Jam next week as long as they don't move it to Thursday. Can tell more about a team under the lights in actual game situations anyway. Can't wait to see some live action. Saints play tomorrow night but who knows how many first teams guys will play or for how long so i'm really forward to next week.

Acadiana vs Teurlings was a really good clean scrimmage. Both teams well coached and played hard.Acadiana 2 td's and Teurlings 1 td and a field goal.Teurlings has a huge offensive line and Acadiana is loaded, once again,at running back.Just need to tweek a few things here and there and both teams should have a good season.

Westlake beat Vinton 2-1 with the 1's. Neither team scored in the first series but both moved the ball. In the 2nd series both teams scored 1 and in the live 12 minute quarter, Westlake scored on a long run with a few minutes left. Overall it was a good scrimmage.

CHSNI traveled to Iowa last night. It was hard to tell if the Panthers are really good or the Yellow Jackets are really bad. It’s probably somewhere in the middle. CHSNI scored 8 TDs and gave up 1 TD. The visiting Panther had 4-5 TDs on big plays and 3-4 on longer drives. Having watched these two teams scrimmage each other last year, it’s safe to say that Iowa is not as strong this year.

Sterlington over matched Cedar Creek. To much speed and power at the running back position. Cedar Creek looks a lot different in the gun,

1st Team Gueydan 1-0
2nd Team Elton 1-0
Elton Indians Our defense will be our strong point for sure. Offensive line struggled but they havent been challenged at all until now practicing solely against our underclassmen. Line has got to get big and tough or the offense will struggle. Quarterback needs a little more patience to let plays develop. Offensive backs played well as expected.
Gueydan Bears I kid you not Gueydan is a much much improved team. Dressing out over 40 if you can believe it. Line wasnt huge but they are definately country strong. 85 plays TE and DE and has great size and good hands. 14 is a good receiver. Team as a whole isnt too athletic but their line and front seven will keep them in games. Team is well coached and pretty disciplined. Brought a good crowd and the players are excited. Looking at their schedule, 6-4 or 7-3 is very realistic for them. Gueydan is a sleeper for sure in 1A.

Don't know what C-NI has back but Iowa lost 19 Seniors including their QB who started at least 2 years. They could struggle early with only 6 returning starters. C-NI has a so so schedule so a 10-0 season is possible. Ya never know how good teams are gonna be until u see them under the lights but Notre Dame looks like their only toss up game.

PP vs St Ed
Varsity- 1-0 Pine JV- 1-0 St. Ed’s
Pine Prairie is still physical on offense, as long as the line isn’t lost. They return one starter and it shows. Sims will still be the feature back and he’s as solid as ever. When the line and freshman QB get their stuff together their veer offense will be difficult to stop. They dabbled in some spread stuff, but it’ll be situational. Their defense is undersized, but fast. The Bluejays were smothered by 6-7 guys swamping through their flexbone. The key will be not missing tackles, which needs to be fixed. They will still be competitive and a feisty bunch. Their numbers have also gone up to about 47, which is better than their 35 average.
The Bluejays are a solid club with some decent size for a 1a team. The QB is easily the best athlete on offense and runs like a fullback. They lack the kind of speed you would expect to see at the slot back position, but they run hard and block well. The defense is pretty solid now that they have gone back to a four-man front, but look out if someone with speed gets in the open field. They should be fine playing in their district.

FP vs. Jena was shortened due to lightning. Both teams had 3 offensive possessions. FP scored twice, Jena once. LT Major was definitely the best player on the field. He had a 35 TDs strike and a 30 yard run for another td. Jena is pretty fast and has good size. Wish we could have seen more.

North Webster Vs Benton
Benton 7-0 in controlled scrimmage between first teams
North Webster 7-0 in controlled scrimmage between 2nd teams
0-0 third teams
In the live quarter it ended in a 6-6 tie. North Webster fumbled the opening kickoff and Benton took over inside the 20, scored on 4th down. Knights scored on a long run. Benton not the prolific offense that they were last season, Knights D-line was in the backfield most of the game.

Parkway's JV outscored Pineville 14-7. This included 28 total plays of the twos and threes. Pineville's freshmen won their scrimmage 18-0.
In the live, 12-minute quarter, Pineville got the ball at the 20 and drove 80 yards on 16 plays, scoring as the buzzer sounded on a 5-yard run by Deus Desire. The Panthers didn't get a snap in the live portion of the scrimmage.

We scrimmaged NV last night. From what I was told they pushed us around during the 1st portion. At the end they played a 12 minute quarter which we won 22-0. I saw saw some video of the game portion and we had some big plays on the ground and in the air. Also saw we had a nice int.

Had a chance to watch Ruston and Byrd go at it. First of all, never trust a scrimmage against Byrd. They run an offense that’s tough to deal with if you haven’t game planned for it.
During the controlled portion, both teams scored twice. Byrd broke several long runs and threw the ball pretty well against Ruston. Ruston has a long way to go on defense after losing a lot from last year. Ruston will need to have some guys step up in the secondary. On offense, Ruston moved the ball pretty well through the air. The QB, Outley, also ran the ball well. Ruston has some pretty quick running backs but most are pretty small backs. All everything TE, Ray Parker, had a big night blocking as well as receiving. Byrd, like most teams Ruston will face, had no answer for him. He caught one pass on a 15 yard out route and took it 70 yards for a touchdown out running a few DBs.
In the timed portion both teams scored once. It was a pretty evenly played scrimmage. Most of all, no major injuries by either team. Ruston will need to improve to survive the first five games. The coaches will find a way to get the playmakers involved. All in all it was good night for both teams. Neither team showed too much.
