This should be a slobernocker and it’s at John W Curtis football stadium in Many, La. What a defensive matchup it was last week with North Desota. North Desota earned the win but I surely enjoyed watching Many’s #10, #11, and #99 work along with the rest of the defense. The Many Union game is always a passionate one and I have no reason to believe it will be any different this Friday night. I would like some good football talk on this thread and let’s have some fun. Come now my friends and post your thoughts about the Tigers and the Farmers!!!

Union has put together some impressive wins so far. Many was tested for the first time last week and only scored 7 points. These teams know each other well so there shouldn't be any surprises. I expect it to be a close, low scoring, competitive game. Based on the games played so far i'd pick Union Parish to come out on top 22-14.

In the Bible, Matthew 25 says “I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was naked and you clothed me”. I moved to a Many in 1995 and I quickly learned that Mr John Curtis was a perfect example of that description by Jesus. He gave groceries to people in need, gave money to help the needy, Physically helped the elderly and those less fortunate. He gave jobs to kids whose families were struggling. I learned to love Mr John Curtis before I knew of his love for Many Tiger football. We don’t always all see eye to eye in Many, I can agree to disagree with Mr John about our team and he never gets angry with me are puts me down because of it. When my son gave up football this year after having played in Many since the 6th grade, my heart was crushed (I’ve had a son in football since 1999). So many talented kids in Many so of course nobody missed my son being on the football team. But at the Jamboree I was walking into the game and ran into Mr John and said how much he missed my son out there with the team. Boy that made my heart full. This decision was the right one and I believe that I speak for all of Many when I say Congratulations to Mr John on a well deserved honor!!!

Mr. Curtis gave me my first job when I was 14-years old. Which reminds me that I have to get dressed and go to work. Anybody in Lafayette with pets - come look me up at PetSmart by River Ranch.

Is it official or is it just a nickname that people close to the football program call it? BTW that stadium need serious upgrade (add more bleachers or make the stadium bigger).

The thing to notice about union parish and at one time farmerville high teams we are our best when we have a dominate wide reciever. 1984 David Braggs 2001 tommorio billberry 2007-2009 Carl Pearson 2013 DeAndre Elliot 2018 Jalen Jones We have had many great tailbacks but whenever we get that difference maker out wide..and actually gameplan to throw it to them, we can be a handful.

You can't gauge a blowout on points sometimes. I've seen teams lose by 21 in games that were close until mid 4th quarter. I've seen teams lose by 21 that the winning team was up by 30 at the half and completely took the foot off the gas.

I say that a game doesn't usually become a blowout until the lead reaches 40+. But i see your point about the score not always being an indicator. We played Evangel years ago in the playoffs and the final score was 35-0 but it was only 7-0 at half and only 14-0 at the end of the 3rd. We were in their Red Zone at least 3 times in the first 3 quarters but got hosed on 3 close plays in the end zone. On the other hand we played Oakdale to open this season and we won 35-0. I don't consider that a blowout but they only had around 50 yards of offense.

I'll take that bet. But you need to put something on the line, as well.

A stadium at Many with the same name as the most successful football program in the state...a private school I think Mr. Booker may have heard of. No offense intended toward Mr. Curtis, sounds like a great man, but how ironic.
Many might score against Union's starters but I doubt it. I do think they will pick up a score late in the game once the Farmers pull the starters. Tough to make excuses about an old fashioned wood-shed whipping by another public.
The only thing slightly better would be Winnfield taking the same whipping.
Farmers: 42-16

Winnfield has been down for the last several years. They have been on the receiving end of "whippings" more often than not. Just last year they were outscored 381-151 on the season going 1-9

[/quote] Winnfield plays marksville so it should be a whipping again this week.

Unfortunately yes i think it will. Would you say Winnfield is starting to look better? I only saw them week 1, but it looks like they are playing better than that showing
