After making 2 straight Championship appearances, looks like Ascension Catholic has decided to go in a different direction, not going to go into details, but he will land on his feet no doubt somewheres else.

Wow. I see SU Lab isn’t the only school that does crazy unexplainable things.

This sounds like a principal that did not like the popularity of a coach or just hate. These schools sometimes get a group in there that have very sensitive feelings.

Did not expect to read this. Coach Drey did a great job building up the culture at AC.
Not going to speculate as to why, will let others who are in the know deal with that. Having ties with AC for nearly 3 decades I can safely say that they do not base hiring/firings on on-field performance.
Personally knowing everyone on the AC administration I don’t believe they would make a move based on jealousy or anything of the kind. Doesn’t mean the split was because if any wrongdoing or malfeasance. Sometimes both parties simply have to move on.
Best of luck to both AC and Coach Drey going forward

It’s a sad day for sure for the AC family, Coach drey is a fantastic football coach and a friend of mine. Whoever gets him next will get a very good football coach Please don’t ask me what happened bc I do not know, no one knows. I guess it’s just one of those things I wish him the best of luck and hope he gets a quality job bc he’s a very good coach, specifically on the offensive side the ball Please don’t drag mud on my alma mater, I don’t know any details but I don’t think either coach drey nor Ac deserves to be put down on here We all know sometimes things don’t always work out For those of you saying it’s about not winning championship or anything about wins and losses, that’s not what AC does on its personnel That just not a requirement for employment at achs So please don’t say that While I do not know details, I know achs doesn’t hold coaches to chapionship standards Good luck to coach drey in the future During his tenure here, coach drey brought AC football back to prominence. We will always be grateful to him for that

Just stating that AC doesn’t make descisions based on wins/losses or personal jealousy. I would guess the reason for the split is valid, doesn’t mean anything negative happened. Just basically said what Goldburg said. There are valid reason for a split. Doesn’t mean AC or Coach Drey did anything wrong. Wish both the best in the future.

Looks like ACHS is trying to be the next St. John. We didn't/couldn't keep Willis after he took us to the championship game in '06. I still don't know the whole reason for that either.

My intent was to take up for AC and convey that they don’t base descisions on wins-losses and/or jealousy, which had been hinted at. Wanted to dispel that before it took a life on its own.

Principal don’t like when the coach has more power than her.

Principal don’t like when the coach has more power than her. That would be one person, not the school as a whole. Neither my original post, or post after, were negative towards anyone. Nor did I try to start or insinuate any rumors. Also never claimed to have knowledge on the situation. Even said I wouldn’t speculate because of that. Not sure how I ruffled some feathers with it to be honest. Thought my original post was quite respectful to everyone involved.

I've had the opportunity to meet Coach Trosclair and he comes off as a very professional guys. If you listen to his postgame interview after the dome game you will agree. I have a good friend from AC that supports my statement. Whatever school gets Trosclair will be one lucky , fortunate school.

I've never shook the man's hand but feel he's a class act that is very passionate about football, and, more importantly, the longterm success of the kids. Some school is about to pick up a gem of a coach that's only going to get better with time.
