This what I've noticed on the board about the losing teams.....AC, they accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. CHNI, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. STM, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. C-BR, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. I think each one of these private schools would tell you they just lost to a better team. Now on to the publics....Oak Grove (which I consider to be one of the most class acts in high school football), accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. (The future looks great for y'all.) Welsh, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. Sterlington, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. WE, accepted their loss and are moving on to next season. BTW, I singled out OG because of ogfan87 being humble and straight on this board, but there are others on here just as humble and classy. WM, lost for reasons no one else lost...(1) the officiating, (2) the OC, (3) playing not to lose, (4), not playing aggressively near the end.(5) and coaches calling the wrong plays in the wrong situations. I don't recall reading anyone from WM saying they lost because of ZACHARY. Zachary had no control over the five things I mentioned. I still have lots of respect for WM football, but it's getting harder and harder to have such respect for them when they lose. I would bet all the other teams that lost have replayed their game in their head over and over and said if we would've just done this or just done that. It's easy to look back when you've had days to think it over, lol. But during the game, you have to make on the spot decisions. Example...you go for two and you don't make it...it was a dumb call by the coach...you make it and the coach is a genius. lol And I know WM is a proud program, but so are these other teams. I guess some will now call me a WM hater. That's very untrue.

I can understand the last TD by Zachary being a hard pill to swallow, so I am giving WM as much time as they need. Just my opinion

I think when it is all said and done just about everybody will agree that the best teams won. There is a lot of raw emotion at the end of the season. I can’t imagine what it feels like for a dad or momma to see their kids last snap.

While I think there were three penalties on the last TD and you’d have to be either blind or biased not to call at least one of them, Zachary is great. A matter of fact, I posted here right after the game congratulating Zachary and didn’t mention the no calls on that play. But no one responded to that cause that’s not the kind of post you want us to make. You want us all to be SnackCake and you're judging all of West Monroe on that one poster. That’d be like judging all of Neville on BootHound or judging all guys who live in their Momma’s basement based off Logic.
Zachary is a great team, worthy apponent and becoming a good rivalry. Can’t wait until next year.

WM,,,not judging all of y'all by what one or two said. You surely did congradulate Zachary on winning. Still haven't read where anyone from WM said Zachary was the better team. sunnyd56 said it best, if you take care of business before that point, then you wouldn't have had that point in the game to complain. Everyone said WM played their last series so wrong. Did ANYONE give Zachary credit for STOPPING WM on their last series? Maybe it didn't work out for WM in that last series because of who was on the other side of the line of scrimmage. All that being said, WM, I can understand it is a hard pill to swallow the way y'all lost. Good luck to y'all next year. And yes, I do mean that. Do enough in the first 46 minutes so the last two minutes won't matter so much. Again, lots of respect for y'alls program.

Well, here’s what I have to say. Officiating can definitely determine the outcome of a game. I’ve seen it numerous times. I watched the WM/Zachary game again and I got a chance to really slow it down to look at it. People are saying Zachary was the most talented team, but looking at the game again, I can’t necessarily say that with 100% confidence. I saw a game of 2 halves. Zachary looked like the more talented team in the first half and WM looked like the more talented team in the second half. WM was playing Great football in the second half and I’m not really sure what would have happened had that holding call been called, But I will speculate based on the way the Rebs were playing the second half, that if that call was made and Zachary got pushed back, I just think the Rebs would have shut them down and won the game. Just my opinion!

I am no West Monroe fan, in fact I have been known to criticize them from time to time. But there is so much poor sportsmanship exhibited on the board on a daily basis, I am not sure why you felt compelled to single West Monroe out. Getting beat is tough to take, but getting beat in a close game that you thought you just about had won, is a much harder pill to swallow. It takes time to get over it.
I won't pretend that I have read all the threads about that game, but here are some impressions I have from what I did read. From the very moment they lost that game, there were people on this board tearing the Rebels down. Some were just trolls and some appeared to be Zachary fans rubbing it in. It is hard for me to tell who the real Zachary fans are, but some of the posts I saw by "supposed" Zachary fans were prime examples of poor sportsmanship. Being a poor sport when you lose is bad, I know because I have been there and done that, and will probably do it again. But being a poor sport when you win is something I just don't understand, and I like to think I have never done.

WM,,,it's all good. Don't know who the real Zachary fans are on this board. Some people were really blasting the Rebels after the game. Don't think that's right at all. But on the other side of the fence, there were people really bragging about what West Monroe was going to do to Zachary. So I think that may have been a little "get back." I don't know if they really are Rebel fans either, lol. But when anyone brags and brags about there team and they lose, then that's expected. Kingboo made a lot of people go against Ferriday because of his antics on this board. Was it fair to Ferriday? Of course not. Sterlington and Oak Grove lost but I didn't hear or read about how glad people were. Yes, Kentwood and Eunice were glad they won, but not so much glad their opponents lost, if that makes sense. They were humble before the game and after the game. I think most of West Monroe fans are classy. I talked with a lot of them at the BOB when they lost to Curtis. No complaining, no excuses. It was a pleasure to sit and talk with them during the game and it made me respect West Monroe even more. Good luck to y'all again next year. From what I read, y'all are losing quite a bit. Well down here STM and ND lose a lot every year, then look what happens the next year, lol.

What hasn't sat right are the folks who have made out like Zachary is somehow dominating WM... hasn't happened yet. WM has been right there with them the last 2 years and, except for 1 play in each game, it could have gone either way. I'll give them their respect but I don't understand the disrespect for my Rebs. I am enjoying the rivalry (just like I always did with Evangel) and hope it continues!

Well, for me, i was cool all year up until a few started getting on here and acting like WM was something they werent. No one was acknowledging the insane run Zachary was on in the playoffs. No respect towards a state champion on the road the entire playoffs except first game. I had to bring them down some from their high post they sat on. That is all i intended do. Put them in their place. Humble pie is a serving best served warm so i stayed on them after the game was over, but only those certain posters. West Monroe was and is very good. An excellent program and base. But even the media went overboard with their "hot takes".. The fall was hard for a lot of rebel fans because they were sold on the lie they were unstoppable and the defense was the best since 2000. All ridiculous. This defense wasnt close to the talent level of that 2000 team. And it is the same story every year for 7 years now. Dominate regular season and bellicose fans come out of the woodworks. Then to be humbled. And they reason why is some of us know that football in big school North Louisiana stinks to high heaven. It is horrible. I applaud WM for an excellent second half performance. It was dominating. I did not think they would out perform and outcoaxh a team that had prouded themselves on being a second half ballclub. For me this year was their last shot for awhile. Zachary will be loaded next season and have some ridiculous athletes coming up. So WM fans truly need some introspective of where they wish their program to go. Is it chanpionships that are the main goal or not? If not, then status quo is fine. If not, then change will be needed. Also, Destrehan will still be loaded next season. Loooaadded. Better defensively by far on the defensive line and offensively their skill players will be the best once again. Acadiana is loaded. This was the best shot for the foreseeable future. I edit to add WM's offensive line should be incredible next year. They just have to find aome playmakers. Will have to find some speedsters as they have lost a plethora of speed theae last three years. All the production the last 2 years is gone, but that Offensive Line will give them a chance. Defensively will be difficult to replace that interior. And depth will be an issue unless they find some guys that hrow up quick. West Monroe will be right in the thick, but these last two years were the years. Hard to see Zachary with all they have returning losing. And their depth will be immense on defense. Will have issues with depth on offensive line but i hear a couple kids that were not on the team will return next season. A 6'3" 320 kid and a junior that is about 6'4" 290. So they are not going anywhere.

If you hold Zachary to 7 pts in the second half, you could've done it in the first. Hunt said on the last coaches show his only regret was not giving Cam the ball on 2nd down on that possession prior to that Official aided Zachary score. I read an article in the Alexandria Town Talk discussion the fall of officiating all across the sport of football. When you lose the way WM did the last two years to Zachary most WM fans still believe the Rebs are the better team.

So they are not going anywhere. Not sure why you think West Monroe is losing everybody. Yes, three great D-lineman will be hard to replace. But you've got Malcolm Moore coming back at one end spot and Cobbs, who someone on here said will be the biggest recruit in the area next year. You've got several DTs coming back and Baby Swanner will probably move to DT. Ty Allen will be a great one. Hutson Hillburn will be good. One of two LBs coming back. Peyton Todd will most like fill one LB spot. Secondary is the question. Always is. But you've got McFee, Miller and Coop coming back. Will also have Norris back from injury. Hopefully Roark will play. Ton's of JV and Freshmen to fill the few holes. And best punter in the state coming back. Offense should be great. 5 of 6 offensive lineman that started at some point coming back. Green the tight end plus Davis that hasn't played since McGill Toolen. Kahmann back at QB. Pierce back at H-Back. Got to replace some WRs that you said weren't good anyway. But our best procession receiver, Jerry Day will be back. Tanner Young is going to be good. RB at West Monroe has always been Plug & Play but Derome Williams…look out. He's going to be great. I also predict Tucker Moore and Josh Pearson will be house hold names by this time next year. Then the best coaching staff in the state. A staff that has lost Two games to Zachary by a total of 5 points when Zachary has had by far superior talent. 2-2 against them in the last few years. Can't wait for the rubber match.
