Oak Grove--they have a lot coming back. Should be right at the top. Eunice---should be good again, but moving up to 4-A will make it tough on them. They'll be one of the smaller 4-A schools in the state. Karr---they'll be good again. West Monroe---not sure, but keep reading they lost a lot of talent. But isn't that always the case with them. And then the next year they're right back in it, lol. Zachary---well from what I've read on this board, they should win it all again. U-High---seems they will lose a lot of talent also. JC---might be close to Top 10 in the nation if they schedule and beat at least one good out-of-state team. But I did read they lost a good offensive starter, not sure, though. SP, you know who that might be??? All of this is just from what I've read on this board, lol. Any other teams, anyone???

Very interested to see what people have coming back in all classes, but especially in 4A. What will Neville be like next year? Will Northwood go undefeated again? What does Karr bring back and will they end up on the public or select side?

Tons coming back.

6-1A should be very wide open and competitive.
Ascension Catholic should be the clear favorites. Bulldogs lose a great deal they will be hard to replace. Dogs might take a loss or 2 while the line and D gets experience. With a new Coach it could also take a few weeks for the team to get used to a new system. Luckily the Dogs return Jai Williams. No one will stop Jai in class A. Should contend for the Dome if the young line can come together.
Ascension Christian will have the most experienced offense. While the offense was very explosive the Lions will have a drastic step up in competition. QB Zachary Diez might be the top QB that no one in class A knows about. Brady Gueho should return from injury and remind me a great deal of former St John standout Gavin Landry.
East Iberville reminds me of White Castle when Ferrante D started coaching. Lots of talent and really coming together as s solid team. Valentine, I suspect, will be a name heard quite often. Huge task, but Tigers have to find a way to prove the can finally knock off a power tram such as Ascension Catholic.
St. John excites me more than anyone. Calling it right now, Eagles are trending upward. The Eagles are losing a good bit of skill players but the underclass should provide the confidence and experience St John needs to turn the corner.
White Castle is loaded with athletes but lack depth. Bulldogs have a ways to go but there is talent in White Castle.

Kinder loses 9 I believe most notable positions. Offensive line only loses one and dl9ne only one. At one point during the season we were starting 10 underclassmen on defense six of which were sopres

Pine Prairie loses a LOT with Sims gone, but a lot of promising young guys will look to fill holes vacated by 11 seniors. Offense will have a new look and will feature more of the triple option. Defense will continue to be undersized, but quick and aggressive. Downsizing the district to 6 teams leaves our schedule with more winnable games. How we do will depend on how well the kids grasp the offense.

District 3-3A should be interesting next year, I think Caldwell is the early favorite as they are returning just about everyone from the defense yet again I believe. Marksville should return a good many as well. Jena will be as good as the defense is, they are replacing just about everyone on Defense and some key offensive players. Buckeye returns from 4A next year and they should be a middle of the pack team, and then there is Grant, they were very young last year, and their numbers were down, but they should be better than this year. If i had to give an opinion right now i would say 1. Caldwell 2. Jena 3. Marksville 4. Buckeye 5. Grant

Through work I've met several people around Marksville. Couldn't ask for nicer people. I hope they do good next season.

They had one defensive starter return this past year, so many Juniors were playing. Same goes for offense as they will return skilled players across the board as well as offensive linemen. Look for STM to be back in the domination hunt again next year.

Neville will be in a rebuilding year next year. They lost: Starting QB, 4/5 Offensive-linemen Starting RB 2/4 Defensive linemen 3/4 Secondary. If the schedule I'm hearing; Ouachita, Ruston, U-High, Evangel and WM is true, we are gonna find out real fast how good the Tigers are going to be.
Karr, Warren Easton, Landry Walker and even McD35 will all probably be in the mix next year. After watching Eunice play, they have a nice QB, but will not be able to compete with the upper level 4A squads. 3A was very week last year! Select gets interesting with Evangel jumping in with STM.

In Class 5A I say Zachary and Acadiana are frontrunners.
Throw West Monroe in the mix and Ruston

Basile loses Dawson Ashford, Bubba Reed, and Jaylen Thomas who are probably their 3 best players. But they only lose 1 senior besides them on the whole team. With St Eds gone they should run 4-1A.
Oberlin and East Beauregard will be the other contenders right behind them.
Gueydan is a wild card, had a great year this year but unknown what they bring back but they could compete with OT and EB.
Merryville, Grand Lake, and Elton will compete for middle of the pack.
Elton brings back every lineman on the team except one so we will have depth there but lose all our skill players who got significant playing time including both QBs, our top two RBs, and our top receiver.
Wainwright will breath new life into GL but probably gonna be baby steps there.
Merryville is BFE so wont know what they have until they step in the field.
Reggie Jackson is gone at Hamilton Christian and he was their only good player so they should occupy the cellar, thats if they dont drop FB between now and August.

The Kangaroos have some key competitors coming back mainly on Defense two good LB offers from Tulane and ULL at that position, DE's that can run and pressure opposing QB, of course speed galore in the secondary. 2A will be present a challenge in terms of depth many starts will be called on to go both ways. Barring minimal injuries, the Roos will be looking to compete for a district and 2A state title!

Anybody got the lowdown on The Church Academy in 6-1A? Their HC is Marcus Randall. Is this a new school or just a new name?

5A seems to be a 2-horse race unless WM can get some "transfers" in to fill some spots available. Which I suspect they will as they do every year.
Zachary had a very solid Freshman team that has some really good athletes that will replace a few players on offense and defense. Jeremiah Grimes will be an elite receiver as a sopre for them and Daryl Givens will likely play SS and will be a better athlete than Milton was this season.
Jalen Bolden will replace Buddy Davis at TE and will be very, very good as just a sopre. Kid will be elite. Zachary isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Their defensive line will be stacked along with linebacker and secondary.
I expect Burrell to play both ways next season in his last year to take advantage of his speed. If they find some quality linemen to replace their 3 seniors upfront on offense they will be about unbeatable in 5A.
Acadiana will be the only threat to their reign and a very formidable one at that.

I believe that Marksville and Caldwell will play for the district championship next season. Jena will still be decent but I don't believe they will beat either Marksville or Cladwell next season.

They have a satellite campus in St Amant as well. Saw them two years ago. Had some good size but lacked depth.

I think this is Caldwell's year to win district, most of the defense will be returning, most with 2 full years experience going into the season. They only averaged something like 9.4 ppg, and several of those scores were against the JV after the game was in hand.

Lots of good young talent on VC's squad. District 6 - 2A looks interesting. I'd say LCA and ND are probably expected to be in contention for the Div III title. ND will be the perennial frontrunner until LCA proves themselves in the higher division, IMO. DISTRICT 6 - 2A 1. Lafayette Christian 2. Lake Arthur 3. Notre Dame 4. Port Barre 5. Welsh
