Interesting list. You can take 4 people off that list without even blinking an eye.
Any word on Welsh?

Apparently the job will be posted and interview will happen after the new year and into January. Everyone is hearing the following names associated with the job Eric Willis Younger Assistant at Denham Spring who was at AC George Templet from Dutchtown Eric Holden from St John Aaron Vice former HC at Redemptorist Terrence Williams former HC at Donaldsonville [br ] Where did you get that list from? How credible is it?

From what I know all these candidates have expressed interest to the admin at AC. I can not see why any would not be worthy of consideration. Its a question of do they want an offensive guy or not. Older or younger ? I’m a young coach that coaches at Denham Springs that use to coach at AC and I haven’t spoken to the AC admin once about the job. I saw them at Christmas Mass in D’Ville on Monday but the extent of our conversation was them telling me my newborn was cute, I’m happy at home in Denham, and I love AC but I don’t see myself leaving DS for awhile or unless I get let go. So I’m not sure what your sources are but I’m not a candidate.

I’m happy man, I’m helping build something here and it was the best move for my family, I’m still learning how to be the best me. I’ll know when the time is right and hopefully I’ll get the opportunity to become a head coach and if that happens I hope I can be a good one but right now I’m still learning to be the best assistant I can be.

Helping build something at Dinky Springs? If you can be a head coach now, do that. I'm not sure how old you are, I'm guessing in your 20's, unless you have lots of connections, take a head coaching job before sticking at a school that will be 4th place in their own district.

That’s understandable. Especially if your family is comfortable. But don’t miss any opportunities bro. That’s all I’m saying.

I’m happy at Denham, it’s a great school, great community, and has the potential to be a year in and year out a good team. Just as all other football playing schools in the state we could always be better but we’re in a good spot right now and have the right pieces in place to make some noise in the next few years.

Being happy is a good thing. I am 16 years into my career in education. I have coached for 14 of those years. (middle school, I am a teacher and not interested in high school coaching) If you want to coach high school, then get in the best position you can. Denham Springs is a good school to teach at, Mr. Jones is a good principal. Don't expect much as far as athletics go. Unless you get Tasmin Mitchell.

Not my business but I totally disagree with replacing a young coach with an old (veteran) coach. It’s a culture shock for the team. Trust me, I know 👀

Take it from ND it worked out horrible for us.

I’m a big Eric Willis fan so I’d love for that to be true.
I can see valid points behind either a young coach or an established coach.
With all the drama surrounding Drey’s exit I could see AC wanting a veteran coach to provide stability for the program.
On the other hand if you hire the right young coach it could pay off with extra energy into the program.
Whoever steps in will have an established support network that will be a huge benefit (purple and gold club, family support).

Quarterfinals State Runner Up State Runner Up That program was the most stable it’s been in over 25 years. Seems like the instability was created by getting rid of Coach Drey. Back to 1st round exits yearly.

The poster seemed to be saying that a veteran coach might be able to maintain stability during this very turbulent time for the program. It’s gonna be tough whoever gets the job.

I think the chances of hitting on another young coach the caliber of Trosclair is slim. Those are like hitting the lottery. At this point a veteran is by far the safer choice in a very precarious time

Oh I get what you are saying and agree but for AC fans and adm the time for being mad and hand ringing is over. They have got to make the best decision they can moving forward. I’m sure if most AC fans could change things and have coach back they would. But that’s not their reality anymore. They have to try to save their program from this crappy situation
