I have realized that I may not have been too clear about different things with the All-Decade teams so here we go.
Big thanks to 64 and his website 14-0productions.com for having the All-State teams dating back to 1916 all in one place to make this easy and make this possible.
Guidelines/Rules
1. Must have been elected 1st Team All-State by the LSWA, the official All-State selection organization. To be in consideration the player must be selected at that position.
2. A player can be considered at more than one position if that player was 1st Team All-State at multiple positions.
3. If a player is selected as All-State at more than one position then that player is automatically eligible at ATH as well.
4. The All-Decade teams will follow the LSWA selection formula of 1 QB, 3 RB, 1 TE, 5 OL, 4 DL, 4 LB, 4 DB, 1 K, 1 P, 1 ATH, 1 KR. The only exception is that 3 WR will be selected instead of 2.
5. Four individual awards will be selected. Offensive Player of the Decade, Defensive Player of the Decade, Coach of the Decade, Team of the Decade.
6. Offensive, Defensive, and Coach awards will come down to an election once the teams are selected. Team award will be given to the winningest team of the decade, which will be determined using MaxPreps.
7. I will break any ties. I will also veto any votes that seem tainted or inaccurate. I want this to be as accurate as possible to give it legitimacy in the face of those who do not consider things like this and the LSL All-State Team to be legitimate (though it looks like we are more legitimate than the LFCA All-State Team these days). Some teams have more fans on here than others and bias may slip through at times so I will be the voice of unbias when the need arises.
8. This is the decade of the split, everyone knows. Any arguments that break out in the threads about split this or split that will have the comments deleted. This is about individual performance of some of the greatest athletes of the decade. Not about the split. No exceptions. Bring that crap to another thread.
9. Many teams have moved between classes over the decade such as University, Lutcher, Amite, Notre Dame, etc. With that many players were selected All-State in more than one class. Though players who are selected All-State in multiple classes are eligible in each class they were picked in I want to try to keep it where a player is not on more than one All-Decade team as much as possible, though that may not be possible every time.
10. Players can make the All-State team at more than one position if that's how the voters want it. As long as they were selected All-State at those positions.
11. A new poll will be presented for your voting every other day. Voting will last until the new poll is released. If a player doesn't receive at least 50% of the vote then the vote will go to runoff between the top vote getters. Runoff polls will last only one day.
12. Any other questions about this just ask and they will be answered to the best of my ability.
