Went to Port Allen vs Many. Port Allen 45 Many 33. Port Allen press ate Many up. The Pelicans scored at least 14 points off of the press forcing Many to turnover the ball. The football player Myron Warren was their best player. He scored 11 of the first 13 for Many. Many was not very good.
As I predicted Port Allen vs Red River. I know Red River is supposed to have a really good guard. I have not seen him. Is he legit? Emareyon Mcdonald. That is too far from Baton Rouge for me to drive for one game.
Port Allen plays good defense. I don't think they can win in a shootout, but if Red River is a one man team the Pelicans can beat them. Port Allen goes about 8 deep that can all play defense. Not gifted offensive players, but solid.
I just watched his video against Rayville in Top 28 last year. Yes that guard is legit.

brprepfan, if there is a better post player in Louisiana than the kid from Red River I wanna know who it is. He is an old school post player. Dominant inside. The kids from Woodlawn-Shreveport felt his wrath earlier this season at Hamilton Christian's Showdown in the Lake. The point guard Emareyon McDonald is legit, no doubt, but Red River is far from being a one man team.

How big is the Post Player? Port Allen does not have much size. Tallest player is 6 ft 3. Their defense is based on turning you over, but if Red River guy is over 6"5, then he can have a big game against Port Allen.

I decided it would be interesting to start doing something for each round going forward that I'll call: this round in upsets...in 2A, a big upset happened in #19 Amite beating #3 Avoyelles Public Charter; they will face #6, Lake Arthur next. Also, Division II really is as wide open as I thought it was; #10 St Louis and #15 Parkview won by 3 points each against #7 ED White and #2 Loyola Prep respectively and will now face each other in the upcoming round. In 3A, #26 St James continues their run with a 44-36 win against Glen Oaks, but now they have mighty #2 Peabody in front of them. Finally, while a score has not yet been posted to my knowledge, there was a 4A team that pulled a major upset, but not one that I was necessarily expecting; #20 Livonia continues their run after beating #4 Woodlawn of Shreveport. Their next opponent will be #5 Carencro.
Edit: it was 63-58 in the Livonia vs Woodlawn game

Livonia coach is Toby St. Cyr. Coached Pointe Coupee Central before it close down. He is a very good coach. Livonia has athletes, however often they did not play basketball in high school. Focused on football. They come from Upper Pointe Coupee, Rougon, and Livonia itself starts in 7th grade. If the school promoted basketball Livonia could be a good team every year.
I am happy they won two playoff games. They may have the worst gym a 4A team has ever had. No seating and the floor is basically painted, smooth concrete. They hosted their playoff game at STEM, which was Pointe Coupee Centrall before it closed. I have not found one article in any paper on their basketball playoff run, which is a shame. It is definitely the farthest Livonia has advanced in 15 years. They won a football and baseball state championship within the last 10 years.

I look forward to Amite visiting tomorrow night. It will be a packed house I'm positive they will have to stop letting fans in the gym.

I know its just lowly class B but the Weston/Doyline matchup should be something to see tomorrow night. A few weeks ago we won at Doyline but there were 6 technicals, a couple intentional fouls, some fan ejections, fans coming on the court after players, fights after the game, etc. The officials are going to have their hands full for sure.
