it's a big jump from coaching 1A and 2A ball to getting into 5A rumbles. It may take him some time to adjust, but I think if they give him that time and not expect huge success right away this will eventually be considered one of the best hires of 2019.
The Panthers were in a 4A district last year and did not fare well against the one decent 5A team they played. (lost to Live Oak 28-3) So they'll have at least 3 big challenges to overcome in 2019: 1. break away from the pattern of previous losing seasons 2. Adjust to moving up in class. Their last season in 5A was 2014, which means none of their current students have played in a 5A district. 3. adjusting to a new coach with maybe a new system
I don't know anything about their previous coach, but I am willing to bet that Coach Randall will hold these guys to a higher standard and expect more out of them both in practice and in games. So yet one more thing the players will need adjust to.

What district in 5A? Zachary one or Catholic. Either way winning district will be a challenge.

What district in 5A? Zachary one or Catholic. Either way winning district will be a challenge. They’re in that Catholic, EA, Dutchtown, St. Amant district. It will be tough. But Woodlawn is a magnet school that is still allowed to play on the non select side for some reason. So they can pull from the whole parish. In 3 years Woodlawn will be scary.
