Dont sleep on Weston in B. They are playing inspired right now and have a couple wins over Zwolle the last 2 years. Also heard Zwolle kicked one of their bigs off the team a couple weeks ago?

Well down go the Tigers. Had a 15 point lead and were up 45-36 with 6 minutes left. Best player fouls out with 3 minutes and it was downhill from there. 60-56 North Central.

And we have an overtime loss to Simsboro that I can promise you the better team didn't win that day. Biggest hose job ever with uncle Drew and Fred Sanford officiating. They couldnt get up and down the court so they would blow whistles indescriminately 60 feet away from the play to catch their breath. Our best player sat for 20 minutes and our big fouled out with a couple minutes to go. We got into overtime and couldnt stop the drive with the rim protector out. This squad got a fire in their belly, especially for Simsboro.

I do know that it’s a huge stage out there and Zwolle has plenty of experience on it. Experience can make all the difference in a game, that’s what part of the problem was with us against NC.

You are correct. This is my biggest concern going in. Weston has never been in the Top 28 on a stage like this.

Good 1st Half between Lake Arthur and Port Allen but, Wooooowwwwwwwww Rayville is on another level right now. I've been saying it all year. When Rayville comes to play (not goofing off like they did in Hamilton Christian's tournament in November) they are the best team in the State of Louisiana.

Rayville is a great team, for the last 3 years.
They scored 128, 122, 107, and 115 in the playoffs this year. Port Allen has not reached 63 in the playoffs. Obviously Pelicans need to slow them down quite a bit. They like to keep game in the 50's. Friday night at 6:00. David vs Goliath. Hope Port Allen has a lot of slingshots. LOL. Go Pels!!!!

Are they better this year?

I was at Rayville’s semifinal game last year. Are they better this year? Hard to say. They were undefeated last year (36-0) and had a 6'6" senior wing/forward that could score from anywhere on the court. They also had a really good senior point guard. Losing two players like that would normally cripple a team as the 6'6" guy averaged 17 and 10 and the point guard was rock solid. Last year's team played a local schedule (mostly North Louisiana schools). This year's team (32-6) has played in a national tournament in Illinois, Hamilton Christian's Showdown In The Lake tournament, against Scotlandville and against Madison Prep twice.

Game will come down to Port Allen taking smart shots, controlling tempo and as every game in HS ball does, guard play. If Port Allen guard can handle the pressure and control the tempo they have a chance. If they let Rayville speed it up they can cancel Christmas. Also Port Allen May have to concede some defensive rebounds. Rayville sends two people to leak out as soon as shots go up. Cannot allow that. Ville Platte got spooked and turned it over at least 25 times.

Also, as well as coach Washington and his staff are at what they do, if it's a close game late then I'll take a coach Rodgers squad in general over a coach Washington squad (and I'd take a coach Washington squad over a lot of squads for other Louisiana coaches)

Look out the Vikings are rolling NGL I'm a little nervous about that but Southern Lab was also giving LCA trouble like this to start (except with a much slower pace). As long as TJ keeps the foul trouble in mind from here on out, LCA can definitely climb back in it.

I was the camera guy for all 4 of my years there, also was on JV for part of my time but never was quite good enough for varsity (my skills were behind a lot of the guys even on JV)

We're trying to follow the game on twitter but updates are few and far between. Rob's at LSU now but he did graduate from LCA 2 years ago. His sister this year then she'll join him at LSU.
