I was reading a news article yesterday and see that Abram Booty is no longer at Cornerstone School in San Antonio.
I was moderately interested in going down to see them play this past season, but with our own senior playing, it just didn't happen.
After talking with some people down that way (football fans) I found out that local programs (public and private) had started to make a lot of noise when kids starting magically transferring over to Cornerstone during the Summer.
To the point where Cornerstone withdrew from the TAPPS league. Cornerstone went into this past season without a league and scrambling to get games. They had a mediocre season, which being a new coach at a program isn't unusual.
Now Abram has left Cornerstone and is heading back to Southern California. One news source asked where they were going and he all but said they were shopping teams for his qb son. I think they did end up deciding on a program.
I've gotta say that I'm a little disappointed that Abram didn't stick around Cornerstone a little longer. I also think it's kind of a shame that Cornerstone is now without a league and the guy who caused it has ditched them.
The rumor floating around is that John Booty is still on staff at Cornerstone, so maybe he can pick up the pieces and not have them just left out high and dry.
A friend said that it shouldn't have shocked anybody that Bootys recruited at ECA, CBA, California, and now Texas. I asked for examples of kids recruited at CBA or ECA and just got a blank stare.
