Oak Grove is putting a new turf field for the 2019 season. Doing away with the only field left in the state, that part of the end zone was on the track . Attachment Deleted

So it just transitioned from dirt to grass? Our track has about a 6 inch concrete lip around it I was thinking that would be dangerous

Well our track sits well off the playing field. It is in bad need of an upgrade. Its crushed stone and its reddish pink. I wish we would upgrade that next after the new Fieldhouse.

No offense meant here but good grief how did the lhsaa condone that. That may be the most dangerous thing I have ever heard of.

I'm just thinking about a couple of years ago a wide receiver ran a go route to end the half and caught the pass and was shoved in the back by the defender as he went into the endzone. He probably would have hit that curb head on on that field.

AWESOME!! All fields should be turf. Not only should they all have turf fields, all stadiums or complexes should have state of the art concession stands that serve the legendary fried Egret poboys and restrooms with more than 1 toilet, and doesn't smell like Bourbon street at 2am.
Pan-American stadium in New Orleans have turf, but their bathrooms are deplorable. If you're not stepping through ankle-high piss to get to the toilet, then I guarantee you that there will be an unflushed turd in both working toilets.

Dont get me wrong our coaches keep our field beautiful all year and do an excellent job painting it but I really wish we had turf so the endzone could always look like they do when it comes to the playoffs.

Oak Grove is putting a new turf field for the 2019 season. Doing away with the only field left in the state, that part of the end zone was on the track . That's awesome for the tigers. Will the End-zone corners still be on the tack though? Can't do away with traditions... lol

But we aren't just narrowing the track

Tonka just made a play because he was the best player on the field. Ty, Tonka, and Kardell were the difference in that game. Yβall were more disciplined. Yβall coaching staff was better. We just had 3 elite players. Those 3 lived up to the hype.

Teams that aren't known for their blazing speed, but rather for their ginormous linemen and ground & pound attack generally don't benefit nearly as much as their opponents from playing on turf.
Call me crazy, but if my team constantly insists on inviting people like Kentwood and West St. James to play me at my place, I'm not only not going to have a turf field, I'm gonna water it and not cut the grass for a week before they show up.
The same people that wanted turf in Oak Grove probably want them to "get in the spread" and "throw the ball mayne"

So we did lol and again you act like turf and grass just makes up a huge difference it doesn't grass and turf still going to have the same speed difference either on grass or turf just saying that is bs... turf does help you gain speed and so it helps slow people run faster too. lol so im GLAD we getting turf. certainly now, come back to me at the end of the season.

I mean not level of Kentwood maybe not the level of WSJ either but we had enough speed to keep up with with 2 3a schools 1 went on to state other made it to quarters I think. and not loosing till Kentwood but Kentwood just has or number lol.. we beat faster teams than us all the time on their turf. so kind of confused on your point you trying to make...
