I would take getting to Sulphur but this team is not the same one as last year. It really looks like a toss up between Notre Dame and Calvary but i give ND the edge for winning a MUCH tougher District. Catholic NI is a dark horse and could bust the bracket with an upset of #1 Dunham in the Quarterfinals. Class 2A and Div III are both very intriguing this year and could yield some surprises.

The power rankings are up on LHSAA - does winning the district have any influence on rankings or is it just the formula that goes into power rankings.

The power rankings are up on LHSAA - does winning the district have any influence on rankings or is it just the formula that goes into power rankings. Winning District doesn't have any affect on the numbers but it can be used as a tie breaker if 2 teams finish with the same Power Rating. The District Champ would get the higher seed. Plus District Champs get an automatic bid and get into the playoffs no matter what their Power Ranking is at the end of the regular season. For example, in a 32 team bracket a District Champ could be 33 in the Power Rankings and still get in over the team ranked 32 if that team didn't win District.

Has anyone seen Holy Savior Menard play this year? Their a good team(10 game winning streak), have deep pitching staff that is good but not spectacular, decent offense, but i doubt that they can hold up against Ascension Episcopal in a 3 Game Series on the road. AES better not take them lightly though or they'll get beat. I could see this going 3 games.

I think Dunham, Ascension Episcopal, and St. Thomas make it to Sulphur. The Calvary/ Notre Dame matchup is a toss up to me. Both of them are really good teams.

I’m pretty sure they are not looking past this weekend, we knew Patrick Taylor was not going to be strong and they weren’t, but they were not the worst team we played this year. I looked up Menard’s schedule and they seem pretty solid was just wondering how deep their pitching staff was.

Anyone know how the AES/Menard series ended up? The other 3 quarterfinals matchups have been decided and are in the bracket.
