Haven’t completely looked at rosters and film. Only ones I know will be good are Zachary, Curtis, Karr. Acadiana. Could be a steep drop off after those. Karr could be he best in the state. Time will tell MT, Neville will be solid. I am trying to envision someone stopping them with two OT that are 6'6 260, and 6'7" 340. The big kid from OCS has indeed transferred in and will be eligible. Will McCarty start him as he did Campbell last season as a freshman is to be seen, but if they do will be biggest in state and both great talents along with good talent all around. what position and grade was the kid from OCS who transferred to Neville?

He played Offensive Tackle while at OCS and DT. He will be a freshman this upcoming football regular season. 6'8" 340.

Did he moved from Swartz to Neville school district? If not he will only be Eli le for JV his freshman season.

If he is a sopre and ineligible then no he can’t play JV either.

The way the rule is written is that only first time freshman are eligible regardless of zone
Now when you transfer to public school they have so much leeway the kid can probably play whatever he wants

The double standard is unreal
How many times have we heard how public schools can only take inzone kids yet with this transfer people asked did he move
Just imagine the fallout if he had left Neville and went to a private school

By playing varsity as an 8th grader he made school of first choice therefore he should not be eligible to play jv or freshman

Was he dressed out for any varsity games? Not that I know of. The kid can hardly get in a stance.

By playing varsity as an 8th grader he made school of first choice therefore he should not be eligible to play jv or freshman I don't like that rule... Even if an 8th grader plays varsity they're not in high school yet at most places and never make an impact. I don't think it's worth it to limit a kid's school choice for a few plays in victory formation

I don't think it's worth it to limit a kid's school choice for a few plays in victory formation [ It’s not just a football rule. On campus 8th graders often compete in golf, tennis, and swimming etc. the problem is selective enforcement of rules in general by the Lhsaa. Many rules were written to thwart private schools but now that they are affecting public schools they are relaxed. It’s what you get with self serving hypocrites running the Lhsaa

Did he play any freshman or jv? Talked to somebody about this, they said he didn’t play Varsity at all just Jr. High.

Gonna be a player in a few years if he stays with it. Still interested in knowing if he moved. He was at OCS because he lived in Swartz- didn’t want to go to Ouachita.

My Top 10 by class, no particular order 5A Zachary John Curtis Destrehan John Ehret West Monroe Catholic-BR Acadiana Archbishop Rummel Alexandria Terrebonne 4A Warren Easton Edna Karr Neville St. Thomas More Northwood-SHR Eunice Lakeshore Evangel Christian Westgate Helen Cox 3A Union Parish University Lab Sterlington Iota McDonogh 35 North Webster Madison Prep Lake Charles Prep Green Oaks St. James 2A Notre Dame Lafayette Christian Welsh Kentwood Many St. Charles Ferriday Calvary Baptist Newman Catholic-NI 1A Vermilion Catholic Haynesville Oak Grove West St. John Logansport Ouachita Christian Southern Lab Ascension Catholic Opelousas Catholic St. Frederick Would be really surprised if Welsh finishes the regular season above .500. Schedule is brutal, team has much turnover, new head coach and they have embarrassed some teams over the last couple of years, may recieve a few beat downs this season. Welsh is going to be a lot like Kinder was last year, very young but talented.

I do not know how Monroe City Schools operate in reference to transfers, especially first time 9th graders.
From my recollection if he did not move into the zone of Monroe then he is ineligible for one year according to LHSAA, but that is in reference to someone already acclimated as a 9th student at his first school of choice (school district rules notwithstanding).
In this case he would be eligible by the LHSAA standard rules, but if the Monroe City School Board has their own rules that differ they will rule him eligible.
He will likely play this season since he is transferring from private to public first school of choice.
Richland Parish Schools arent going to fuss and he never played Varsity at OCS. So they shouldnt fuss since he never was a contributor in the first place (cant lose something you did not have).
***Edit to Add***
This will come down to Monroe City Schools and no one else. By all accounts he is eligible as long as MCSB allows it themselves.
LHSAA wont see anything to it if Monroe City Schools allow it since the LHSAA is about first school of choice add the fact he is coming from a private to public before high school.
And i do think he will play in their system that is built on size and power if he gets healthy.
