I’ve been trying to tell people all summer UHigh still has talent. Tanner can play. Roy is an All American. And Graham runs hard. I still think Neville should win. But this game will be interesting.

This should be a good one and I would love to watch these 2 Heavyweights. U-High brings the longest winning streak in the state to Neville Friday night. 27 in a row.

I can't see the cubs matching up with the Tigers. John Ehret, this season, is no Neville.

Neville offense needs to pick it up a notch to beat University. Made too many mistakes last wk. Still too many guy out with injuries.

Neville is probably too physical for the cubs. Really, when has a cub ever beaten a tiger? 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

Agree- should be a great game. I know Uhigh has a great running back. Do they throw the ball much?

Agree- should be a great game. I know Uhigh has a great running back. Do they throw the ball much? At this time they aren’t proficient throwing but they give the QB some easy throws. They use the TE Ausberry very well to get them in favorable down and distance. The RB is really talented like really talented. Slaughter is small but can past anyone. Big up front on both sides. Davey is solid at lb, Gilbert is really good at safety.

U High was probably the best team in the state last year. There on a 26 game win streak.. This may be a good game early but I got U High by 20

I’m questioning why this game isn’t game of the week with the local news but the West Ouachita and Jonesboro game is.

Neville vs Ruston was game of the week last week and I am sure Neville vs WM will be game of the week in a few weeks. Guess they want to give it to other teams even though it is an odd matchup they picked.

Here's how I see it going down: Neville's key to the game will be stopping the run of U-H, #6 and #4 are legit rbs that have both power and speed. Neville will have to make sure tackles and have a lot of defenders running to the ball. U-H's o-line is anchored by #76 and #68, both of whom are quite large and can move some people out of the hole. The Qb is good, not great but has good size and can run a bit. His main target is #4 when playing the slot or #3 a speedy type receiver. Neville's front four will have to play a great game to force U-H out of its comfort zone and throw the ball. I do look for U-H to run some flair passes and screens to find ways to get their two best athletes the ball in space. I think they will have trouble in a single back set, just handing the ball off. If U-H can run the ball, control the clock and keep Neville's offense off the field they have a great chance of winning the game.
When Neville has the ball we get to see the best matchup of the night. Neville's soph OT Campbell vs #78 Jaq Roy. It will be interesting to see how much they let him try and block him without help. These are two big time recruits going at it. Neville will have to run the ball against the three man front U-H uses. #7 the olb on Roy's side is active, mostly taking advantage of the double teams on #78. The nose guard #79 is very active and strong. All of the lbs are quality ball players. #9 seems to be the most active. #24 loves to blitz from the left side and make a ton of stops in the backfield. Neville will have to hit some medium level passes to get over the front of U-H's defensive front.
If Neville can limit the turnovers from last week and stop #6 and #4, I think Neville has a good shot at ending the Cub's win streak.
Prediction: Neville 35 - Univ High 28

I'm not sure they have any fans. They sure didn't travel well to NO last week. There will be a handful. I'll be seated with them. The cutest one I can find.

Hey Ray, I think U High does 7 on 7 matchups in the preseason. How about Neville?
Does Neville do 7 on 7 matchups in the preseason to improve timing and stay in shape?
Or does Neville think 7 on 7's are a total waste of time?

Any chance LSU’s interim DL coach makes a visit to his alma mater tomorrow night to watch the Roy/Campbell matchup or will he be busy preparing for the match up against his college alma mater Saturday night?

UHigh May have a bus or two coming. Don’t expect a big crowd. LSU tailgating for home game takes precedent

Any chance LSU’s interim DL coach makes a visit to his alma mater tomorrow night to watch the Roy/Campbell matchup or will he be busy preparing for the match up against his college alma mater Saturday night? Good question and if he is capable to watch in sure he will be there. Campbell has played well, but for some odd reason he looks more stiff than last year and not as crazy. He was a cheetah out there last season seemingly everywhere he could go to block someone, anyone, for any reason. His stamina and athleticism was unique. Seems he has been coached to back off and stay with his assignment more. I understand it, but damn last year he was punishing every level of the defense and played reckless as hell (in a good way I thought). Roy will have to use power to get by him. I can't see him using his athleticism, Campbell is unique and his footwork is insane. His use of his hands are also impressive. But, he isn't massive yet and Roy is. Will be worth the $9 to watch this matchup alone. Enjoy it. Rarely comes around. I remember DeLaSalle and Marquise Hill came up and played West Monroe when both Hill (RIP man) and Whitworth were 5 star players. It was two juggernauts.
