I know that the season just ended, but everyone has an good idea what the rosters look like for the 9 teams that won state and the other 9 who were runner ups. So, who has a killer team coming back next season that will either repeat as champs or make it back to the championship game. So far, I’ve heard that Madison Prep will be loaded. Who else??

Acadiana will be VERY good again. LCA will be better next year than they were for the semis and finals this season. But St. Charles and Newman bring back most of their best and Notre Dame is ALWAYS good. The LCA and Notre Dame JV game this year was epic. STM will be great as always. Walker Howard in his 2nd year as a starter will be a beast Carencro loses a lot but they have a lot coming back too. They may look a little different though because their rising junior QB is super talented as a runner and passer. Madison Prep will be a force. That’s the next dominant program in my opinion. They bring a lot back and I saw their JV team this year. They have big time size coming to add to the returning athletes

Carencro will have to wait a while, lol

I think Catholic-Baton Rouge and Curtis will battle for the top of Division 1 spot. Division 2 - STM again. Division 3 - LCA. Division 4 - I'll say Calvary, but don't know that much about that division. 5-A, Acadiana. 4-A, Karr. 3-A, Madison Prep. 2-A, I'll say Kinder, and 1-A, Oak Grove. In other words, not much change from this year, although there are always a few surprise teams that will come along.

We (Many)will be back. Defense pretty much returns in tact. Have a lot of talent that will step in for the seniors we lose. Looking forward to it!

Losing Hargrove really hurts us but we’re going to have to come up with a multiple offense. Throwing the ball will be the key. Also wondering how 4A and 5A will look in North Louisiana. West Monroe, Ouachita Ruston, Alexandria, Haughton, Minden, Neville, Bastrop?

Calvary returns a lot,,, when you have a QB that comes up to the school to work on his game even after a MVP showing, it bodes well for us. He studies film like nobody's business, a student of the game, he was up there yesterday with a returning WR to work on his throwing game. That is commitment from someone that is good already that WANTS to get better. Our asst Coach Mark Miller documented what Lyddy did when he drove up to the school to load our game film from the other day. Got most of our OL back, lose a couple great players in Wilson and Wallace but got a couple WR coming back that chose to play baseball this year only and will be seniors next year. Got a great group of JV players that played 7 games this past year so they do have some playing experience. I look for Southern Lab and OCS to be towards the top again next season as Lab was very young when we played them earlier this year in the playoffs.

GRAND LAKE has accomplished a lot for only having a football program less than 10 years. ANYONE else see them being a steady playoff and championship team?

Oak Grove loses more players this year than they did last year but they still return a good group. I think they will return around 11-12 starters. Major playmakers like Holloway, Craten, and Clement will be hard to replace but this staff is as good as it gets so I figure they will have them right back in contention. They also have a great group of young kids coming up.

Calvary returns 60 of 70.... not bad! 70 kids at a 1A school 🙄 It's doable. It depends how many boys go out for football. According to the enrollment numbers, Calvary has about 242 students. For the sake of simplicity, let's just say that 50% are boys (with schools like Curtis, Calvary, ECA, etc, it's probably more like 60% boys) 50% of 242 is 121. so if there are 121 boys and 70 are on the team, then that comes out to about 58% of the boys at the school playing football. A little more than half play football, which I think isn't out of the norm. So if there are 60% boys at Calvary, then that percentage goes down to 49%, which is now a little less than half. The issue is that you have schools like Thrive Academy or False River, who has an enrollment at about 100 or below, so if you use those same numbers for False River, who has 91total kids, then 58% playing football would be 26 kids. I think False River usually have like a roster of 30-35 kids.

I’m well rounded lol. It’s def possible, but there’s a reason it’s not typical. Also, how many of those kids are “football players” and not just bodies in pads. Man I know because I’ve seen it and that’s all I can speak to, and that’s that the 22 players that a Calvary type will put on the field are “football players.” Some of your other schools are putting the best basketball player at x or z or their center fielder at free safety...good athletes but they’re not football players.
