Ruston has openings for both the Baseball and Softball positions. Any names out there as possible candidates? Would expect them to move fast on hiring a new coach.

Ruston hires Zack Smith as it’s next baseball coach. Zack has been on staff the last few years after winning four state championship at Forest High School.

What happened with Tim Smith at Ruston? Was it simply about W's and L's?
I remember a time when he was on the staff at Pineville when they were winning state titles and then he replaced the Whitman guy at Pineville when Whitman went to La College. He didn't win there much and was gone. Went to Captain Shreve and you never heard anything from him there. Then he was at Ruston and they didn't do much at all in his time there which wasn't really news. Ruston hasn't been relevant in softball since winning state about 15 years ago.
Hard to tell if he just isn't good at what he does or if he has made some bad decisions on jobs.
With all the new facility upgrades at the new park and the money in Ruston it seems like that would be a great job. I know Cedar Creek drains a lot of talent away from Ruston but still it should be a competitive program.
