LSU has hired Arizona head coach Jay Johnson to replace Paul Maneiri as head coach of the Tigers. Maneiri retired after 15 seasons at the helm at LSU and led the Tigers to a national title in 2009 and a national runner-up finish in 2017. Johnson was 208-114 in six seasons with Arizona and led them to two CWS appearances during that time, including a national runner-up finish in 2016. He has a career overall record of 316-172 in in nine total seasons as a head coach at D2 Point Loma Nazarene, Nevada, and Arizona. He also had stints as an assistant coach at Point Loma Nazarene from 2001-04 and at the University of San Diego from 2006-13. www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/31703165/lsu-tigers-set-hire-arizona-wildcats-baseball-coach-jay-johnson-sources-say
