I don’t know about most of these teams, but I really think Loreauville has the talent at the skill positions to not only hang but win! [b Well maybe we will get a chance to see.. But the way it's looking they will probably be on opposite sides of the bracket I still think Many wins by 14 to 21 tho...

If they were in the non-select bracket, they would have won the title easily last year I think Newman would have won last year in non select by 14-17 over Many. But Many are better this year and I’m not sure if Newman is as good. Losing your best weapon to transfer along with normal graduates is tough Newman and Many are both improved. As UnbiasedObserver has pointed out, Newman is now more physical. Catholic NI was in great position to eliminate Newman in the playoffs in New Orleans, but it slipped away. Perhaps Arch Manning just had a bad game that night. It’s odd because Catholic’s weak spot last year on defense was its secondary. Their front seven was very good

It really pains me 2a is split. It’s such a joke. It’s a very even classification. I admittedly haven’t seen a lot of 2a ball this year. Actually haven’t seen any. I’ll defer best to you guys

Ok I’m not buying ND being as good this year as they have been in the past. This many team might be their best ever. If you go by talent alone Many has the advantage This is the first year maybe ever I would think Many and NF are close. Many has at least 4-5 future power conference players if not more. I need to see St Charles more play this year but they graduated their best players last year if I remember correctly. But I did say they would be favorites against Many just not huge favorites. Newman cannot beat anybody physical and while Manning is a beast Many’s overall roster is more talented. AE and CNI are so far out of this conversation I won’t even address them. Now tell me why those teams would beat Many. Have you seen Notre Dame this year? What makes you think Notre Dame is any different this year than any of the last few? They are physical as hell. They have a big physical RB, a QB that can make throws and as usual, a great scheme on offense. They are physical, like always, in the front 7 on defense and will knock your head off. Also, as normal, their biggest issue is with teams that have good QBs and a lot of speed at WR. Has Many magically added a great passing attack? I watched them scrimmage STM and came away thinking that other than Walker Howard, Notre Dame was the better team. I watched them play a jamboree stalemate with Acadiana. And in the regular season they have beaten two 5A teams this year and have a road loss to a 4A Teurlings team thats 4-0 and may open some people’s eyes over the next few weeks. BTW, Teurlings has a very good QB and a good group of WRs. Have you seen Newman this year? They are much better than they were last year. And who are all these physical teams that are beating them? They lost once last year. They dominated Holy Cross from the 5A Catholic League in their scrimmage. Then embarrassed 4A select Vandebilt Catholic (who then crushed Breaux Bridge this week). You talk about all of the recruits at Many…go look at Newman’s 2022 and 2023 list. They’ve added a couple of guys on defense who are major upgrades. Their DL and LBs are very good. They are basically a more offensively talented Notre Dame, and they would score at will against a lot of teams that are much better than Many. De La Salle, the team that’s played for the D2 title each of the last two years, played LCCP this week. Is Many more talented than LCCP? I’m not sure a very good case could be made for that. Well De La Salle rung up 30 on them in a win this week. One week after getting shut out by St. Charles. Apparently St. Charles hasnt been as depleted as you think. They’ve yet to be scored on this year. And I’ve watched LCA play them the last two years in the D3 title game. And I’ve seen Many play last year and this year. If you think Many is going to line up and just run the ball against St. Charles and have success…we are gonna have to disagree big time. Finally, with all 3 of these teams, Many might have a couple more college recruits than a couple of them, but in D3 select, you will see very few players that play both ways. Newman’s stud TE will come and rush the passer on 3rd and long some but you probably won’t see much else. The very best player on Many’s defense is also their starting QB! And if this year is like last year, then I’m guessing most of their other star players are also full time defenders. That makes a HUGE difference. I’ve said over and over that I agree with the separate playoff brackets in 1A and 2A. And there’s a reason for it. The upper tier select teams in 2A are better. Plain and simple. Again, I’d be willing to bet pretty much anything that Newman, St. Charles and Notre Dame would all beat Many. That’s not a shot at Many. It just is what it is. Post of the year candidate. Very well thought out and respectful. I’ll add if LCA beats CHBR then lord help the rest of us cause no team will beat them.

We will never know since Many and LCA don’t get to play each other 🤷♂️ Newman, St. Charles, and Notre Dame would all beat Many. Maybe Ascension Episcopal too. Many class 2A LCA division No way Newman, St. Charles, Notre Dame, and AE can all beat Many. I haven't seen them all play yet but I looking at scores I don't believe that. Sounds like a split angered opinion. Although, LCA is one of the top 5 in the state all divisions/classes which they proved by beating Acadiana.

I said 2A not Division 3... 🙄🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦 I apologize and I shouldn’t have said you’re a coward since I don’t know you and don’t want to know you. I should have said that your administration at Many high school are cowards. With that being said, LCA, Notre Dame, Newman, Ascension Episcopal, St Charles and probably CHSNI would all skill drag Many. So I don’t think y’all are the best in 2A as all of the above teams are considered 2A but are forced to play in D111 for the playoffs. Is that better sweetie? Best opinion yet!!! lol. Didn't CHSNI lose to Delcambre who is no where close to top 10 in 2A?

OK. Tell me why. I would be willing to bet pretty much anything that Newman, St. Charles and Notre Dame would beat them. Newman would hang 45+ points on Many. Many wouldn’t score on St. Charles. And Notre Dame is just better than them. Tell me where I’m wrong. Your Wrong. LCA is better than the rest no argument there. Many vs. St. Charles, Notre Dame, and Newman would all be good games. I don't know about the past but this year they have some pieces to the puzzle that can hang or even beat all these teams except LCA.

It’s hard to take you seriously telling me I’m wrong and then following that up with “I haven’t seen them play”. But you are welcome to your opinion. If you kept reading after the post you quoted me on, I gave my reasons why I feel the way I do. If you have a differing opinion other than “looking at scores”, I’d love to hear it. All bring different things to the table. Many brings a hard-nosed offensive scheme that is different from what most teams see and DBs to cover spread WRs, Newman brings a spread offense lead by an accurate QB and a white collar hard-nosed defense, and Notre Dame has a hard-nose offensive attack and probably the toughest defensive box in 2A division 3 or whatever you want to call it. I have not seen St. Charles play at all. Ascension Episcopal is not in that conversation just yet. I'm not saying any of the teams were bad just saying Many can hang with the ones you were mentioning. In my opinion of course just like you have yours.

St. Charles is as good defensively as anyone in 2A or 3A though. And there aren’t many better in 4A either. You won’t beat them without being able to throw the ball. All of that said, I do think Many can “hang” with all of those teams. I just don’t think they would beat any of them. You won’t beat Notre Dame or St. Charles without a good passing game. And Newman, like I mentioned in an earlier post, will score a ton of points on plenty of teams that are better than Many is.

Last year Newman won 14-7. In 2019, SCC won 28-27. Very different styles of play, but both really good football teams. Everybody keeps acting like LCA beating those teams and being a lock for the D3 title is a foregone conclusion. They are both capable of being D3 champs.

Of course, I suppose I should remind myself that I really shouldn’t judge any of those other teams without watching them play in person.

I think Red River just placed doubt in Many’s strength being coverage. In the years I watched many play(haven’t this year) their strength was stopping the run and lots of pressure. The teams that seemed to give them trouble are teams that have the ability to throw or run.

Don’t sleep on Avoyelles . They will give Many all they want this year and at worse finish 9-1 behind Many in district . They have always given teams fits with their offense and onside kick mentality which leveled the playing field . This year is no different with the exception that they actually have a very good defense . They dress out around 30 kids and about half of those guys are seniors . I look for them to be a semifinal team at the very least . This is definitely their window. They have already soundly beaten some pretty good football teams .

When u give up that many penalty yards and still win by 2 scores over a top 10 2A non select team that still says something.. They clean up the penalties some they are gonna be just fine lol 👌👌😁 And the #1 running back went out in the second quarter... DEPTH will win football games!

Newman and AES are gonna have 4 and sometimes 5 guys to cover every snap. And if the Many DBs are attacking the box to stop Notre Dame’s run game, they will light them up with the pass too.
If Red River scored 31 on Many, I stand by my opinion that Newman scores 45+. AES would score a bunch too (although I’m not convinced they can stop Many’s run game). Notre Dame would win by a couple TDs. And I’m not sure Many would score on St. Charles, and if they did, it wouldn’t be much.

So the only thing I question in your post is who have they beaten that is good? Rayne, not good this year. Carrol, maybe average. Eunice, not good. Bunkie, maybe average. Winnfield, another maybe average. They've beaten everybody they've played, though. I think they have a good chance of being a semifinal team. But the brackets will have to be nice to them, lol. Either way, I wish them all the best.
