John Melvin University is set to open in Crowley this year and they will sponsor athletics and are seeking membership in the NAIA and Red River Athletic Conference, which would join them with LSUS, LSUA, LCU, and Xavier as in state rivals along with other members. Basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer are sports that seem to be on the books so far

Looks like college football is coming to the rice capitol
