Combine D1 and D2 and combine D4 and D5. I don't know why they wouldn't just combine D4 and D5 anyways. All 1A schools are just class B and C schools with football teams

Need to drop these brackets to 16 teams max. Loreauville wins 22-1 in a wasted game. Jonesboro-Hodge basically spent money to drive down here and get slaughtered for no reason.

Every time the playoffs come around in a sport, the 16 team theory pops up and every time it's made to look foolish. Some brackets have to be 16 because there aren't enough teams to make a decent bracket. Now we are in the Softball playoffs and so far 2 #16s have played and they both lost. Hell in Class 3A #16 Berwick lost 10-3. And teams seeded in the 20s always beat higher seeded teams in the 1st and there is always one that even gets to the Quarterfinals. In Class 5A Basketball #22 Landry-Walker won the State Championship. That right there makes the 16 team idea worthless. Just forget it for the public playoffs. The 16 team theory has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese.

Baseball will be just as ugly as softball. The whole bottom half of the bracket will be bad.

Im not in favor of Baseball/Softball Split but games like that are going to happen with or without a split. Just look at some of these 1st round scores from previous playoffs

Hahah....in today's world, everyone makes the playoffs. You don't have to earn it. You can thank the split.

Oh yeah, Those years when Curtis and Evangel were forced to play in lower classifications even though they wanted to play in 4 and 5A. That was sad...and also another dumb move by LHSAA

Ha Ha. There are good coaches, but it isn't the x's and o's, its the Jimmys and the Joes. I am not saying they recruit at all. Their student body is simply different than a public schools. They have an advantage there.

I remember that. The 5A and 4A schools got together to make that happen. They pulled in enough of 3A to get the votes. They claimed that putting them in a lower Class would stop the truly elite players from going there. It worked a little on Evangel but Curtis didn't skip a beat.

#22 Lake Arthur beats #11 Mamou 3-2. And #16 seeds went 1-5 against #17 seeds.

Kaplan lady Pirates season has ended. Brusly won 11 to 1 in 5 innings. I'm looking for North Vermilion to win the state championship this year if they don't pull a stunt like they did last year.
Jena had a tough one against Jewel Sumner but squeaked by 2 to 1.

Oh wow the flashbacks... 

I was part of that team. It was the best team we ever had. We had a huge offensive line, a tough running back, a dynamic quarterback, fast sweep guys, and a pretty stout defense, especially our Linebackers. 

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. We had faith and enthusiasm until the start of the 2nd quarter when it was 21-0 and all we had to show for it was an interception and 8 yards of offense. It ended up being 49-0 at the half. It was a pretty fair fight in the 2nd half when we were playing Curtis' backups. There were no scores in the 3rd quarter and only 1 score from Curtis in the 4th. 

In the end I think we had something around 40 to 50 yards of offense and 1 interception on defense. 

Our team in 2014 recaptured some of the life of the 2012 team but then we (oddly enough) ran into Kinder. Now, Kinder was a contested game until about half-way through the 3rd quarter. It was 28-14 at half, but our defense got gassed and it ended up 42-14. Still, the Kinder game was enjoyable the whole time and our players and fans were enthusiastic the whole way through. The players and fans were just silenced early on during the Curtis game.

Not trying to start anything because I hate mess and arguments and trouble on here but thats why I don't understand why people refuse to believe schools like John Curtis don't have an advantage over schools like Springfield

Yea it hasn't been pretty for the most part. The 2nd round has been better. The State Tournament will have some good games. Softball just doesn't have the depth of the other major sports.

I can see the definite advantage that Ecole Classique has over Oak Grove and Sterlington.  Acting like every private school has an advantage over every public is a false assumption.   May surprise you but most private schools get slaughtered by those some schools.
