Great matchup with two 8-0 teams set to go head to head...Can both defenses step up to the plate...Jena will look to try and do what no one has done all year stop Eric London who went over 2000 yards last week...Jena has a strong running game itself in Savage and Jones...both signal callers a formidable also in Abrams for Caldwell and Farris for Jena...i hate to sound like a homer but i take the Spartans 36-30

Should be a great game. I think both defenses rise somewhat to the test and keep each other's offenses under 30. I'd give the edge to Jena, 28-27

Huge statement for London and the Spartans. I'll say that jena holds London to lowest total of yr, but he still goes for 185 and 3 scores. Caldwell wins 26-20

You ARE a homer, and I agree with you. London is calling and I don’t think Jena will have the answer. Give me Caldwell in this one.

Can Caldwell pass. Jena's has a stout run defense. Caldwell has not played a defense like Jena's this year.

I think it's a close game but in the end i think Jena's defense does enough to win. I think the crowd will be a big factor in this one not sure caldwell will have played in that kind of atmosphere before.

I have to go with Jena in this one from having been used to playing in this playoff type atmosphere before & it has been awhile for Caldwell Parish. I will say 35-33 Jena. In my humble opinion...

I don't know who will win but I think it is silly to say that the environment and home field advantage can't or won't have an impact. I've seen teams completely shut down playing in a playoff style environment. A lot of 16-17 kids just can't handle it at least for part of the game. And in a game like this. 1-2 possessions of being tight can make the difference. Once again I'm not predicting Jena to win just saying that on the high school football level home field advantage can absolutely have a huge impact.

Idk if you guys know or not but these schools are less than 30 mins apart. I live in Caldwell and from the talk around the parish the game is in Jena but the crowd may be the same on both sides

Absolutely!!! That is why I say whoever handles this playoff type atmosphere better will win. Just think Jena has been there more than Caldwell, so that is why I picked Jena in a close game. In my humble opinion...

High scoring game. Both teams in the 30s, maybe 40s. I like Jena. I think their defense is stronger than Caldwell's.

Jena will surprise everyone. London will get 150 or so just on talent, but Caldwell won't be in it after halftime. Jena will put up 500 yards and score in the 50's.
Caldwell hasn't been down all year, and they haven't played much of a schedule. Jena will impose their will in the second half.
Jena 52. Caldwell 26

It's not the size of the crowd that necessary can effect players it's the pressure of the whole environment. And in that scenario Jena absolutely has an advantage. They have played in big meaningful games. Caldwell hasn't in a while. Doesn't mean Jena will win just that it is part of the equation. Sometimes the kids who haven't been in the big games come in too pumped. That can hurt just as bad as sleepwalking through a game. There is something to be said for having gone through it before. Now if Caldwell is simply better it very well might not matter.

The Game has been moved to Thursday 10-26-2017 at 7pm. After watching Caldwell's offense and Jena's defense this game is going to be epic. Both teams are loaded with speed and I believe that London will get his yards and scores, but Jena will hit him harder than he has been hit this year. Jena will also run with him, because of speed on defense. That is what's going to be fun to watch. How will London react to people running with him? He's a player and will be up to the challenge. Jena's offense against Caldwell's defense will be another story all together. Jena will run the ball as much as they want during this game. Those backs in Jena are the real deal too! Two good teams, only one winner! Jena 55 Caldwell 21

I think it's because of the high chance of thunderstorms and temps in the low 50s Friday night being forecast this morning.

I have heard it was the visitors who requested the game change. I would think a dry field would help eliminate some risk of injury and possibly a lengthy lightning delay?
