I know that the Superdome is the pinnacle and the kids play every year to be able to play there and most kids never get the chance to do so, even in a regular season game. My question is this: Would you like to see the location move around to different sites, Tiger Stadium, Tulane's new stadium, Independence Bowl or other? Or stay in NOLA each year? Thoughts on playing the championship at the highest seeded school's site or keeping it at a neutral site.

My grandpa told me he used to walk to school 60 miles in the snow if he could do it they should be able to play a game of football in it.

The Superdome is able to be used because of its turf. I wouldn’t mind the games being moved to other turf venues like ULL, NSU, etc., but you’ll never convince LSU to host high school games on their field, especially if it rains.

I am a little biased but 'going to the Dome' is the single greatest experience in American high School football IMO. In 2005 I played in Independence stadium for the finals against West Monroe. It was 19 degrees, windy, and miserable, especially since we were forced to use those terrible Baden balls which turned into slick rocks in the cold. Needless to say it didn't bode well for our sopre QB. The next 2 years we played in the Dome and I can tell you the experience was infinitely better. There is just something magical about the whole experience. Christmas time in NOLA, passionate fans from all over the state, and of course all the food and booze you can consume. I don't think any city in LA could duplicate that experience.

The superdome created jealousies among principals which led us to the brackets. Without all the attention of the Dome IMO things would be a lot different, and for the better. But hey, there's nothing like taking your family to the highest crime city in the nation!

Won the state championship on our own field and wouldn't trade that experience for the world, but I think the Superdome classic has become an institution for fans from all over the state...plus it is the perfect excuse for a weekend in the greatest city on earth. Haven't missed a weekend in over 20 years, but the year they played the games in Shreveport just wasn't on the level of the dome. For the kids, it's still a state championship and nothing can take that, but for the fans and ticket buyers, New Orleans is by far, the best option.

I would however take my chances if my boys were to go.

New Orleans does have a lot to offer with the superdome, hotels, restaurants, booze, mardi gras beads, t-shirts, pan-handlers and shopping. NOLA also has a lot to offer in the way of crime (…was robbed at a hotel on Poydras). After recent removal of historical monuments, some football teams (and fans) with pc-offending mascots may not be welcome in the future - one team comes to mind immediately. Agree that championships hosted in central or northern Louisiana have the downside of not playing under a roof, but the games would be a positive for communities involved.

I wouldn't mind seeing the championships being moved every 2-3 years. That would give other cities and communities a chance to share in tax revenue for businesses, restaurants and hotels.I could see games played in Lake Charles(McNeese),Monroe(ULM),Lafayette(ULL),Hammond(Southestern) or Natchitoches(Northwestern St.)and of course Baton Rouge and Shreverport.

The excitement and buildup of a high school kid's dream to get to the Dome and get a championship, knowing you only have four opportunities throughout high school to get there, is both unique and special to Louisiana high school football. Now semi final games at Tulane's stadium or Independence Bowl would be nice especially in those times of crowd control, and school's stadiums not having the space to fit all the fans that try to attend. But some people would argue that would take away the advantage of having a home playoff game. Overall it wouldn't feel the same to work hard all year to get to the championship at Tiger stadium (no disrespect to Tiger stadium). No sir, but a group of high school kids give their all year round, and commit to the coaches, the school, the community, and each other to get to the DOME! In my humble opinion haha

In my humble opinion haha While the dome is cool, the town outside is dangerous. I think it should be rotated. I'd play for a state championship in the Winn Dixie parking lot if I was still a kid. The venue doesn't matter when the first whistle blows. Time for south Louisiana to give up the monopoly on championships. If you high school team wants to play on a college field , there's multiple opportunities around the state. Semifinals should be at the high seed. For that matter, it's my opinion all playoff games should go to the higher seeds stadium.

Playoff berths should be earned, not given away like they are now. I'm seeing alot of animosity on here today about splits and green rectangles. Haha Football championships should stay in the dome.

My grandpa told me he used to walk to school 60 miles in the snow if he could do it they should be able to play a game of football in it. So, let me get this straight. I'm from south plaq so excuse me if my math is a bit off, but if you are driving 60MPH , it will take you 1 HOUR to go 60 miles. So, if the average waking speed is 3MPH , it will take you 20 HOURS to get to school, which leaves you 4 hours for Class, homework, sleep, etc. And that's not including WALKING BACK home! So, now we are talking about a 40 hour round trip! Wow!!

The championship games should either have select at one location and non at another, or have the whole dog/pony show move to a different venue yearly.

I had this discussion with a friend just this week. He was asking why UL no longer will even consider hosting LHSAA events. (he is associated with Southeastern) The answer, because no matter how good the experience you give them, some jealous redneck will want it in Shreveport just to keep it fair in their own minds and they will lie and cheat to get it. My prediction is that this string is indicative of that same mentality that drove the basketball championships out of Lafayette and the best facility they ever had for championships. To be hopscotched across the state in a loss of direction, revenue and respect as a premier event.
