What part of he has more important things than talk to me do you guys not understand. I was there, not shying away from him or any other Neville person. Yet none of you wished to talk. Where were you Django? We’re you at the game or out recruiting? I’m sure he did have more important things, but that’s not exactly The same tone that you were chirping here earlier in the season. My guess is that the Coach McCartney & you had a talk & he told you, in a very nice way, to stand down with all that stuff. And yes, I was there. Throwing those “recruiting” claims around again, yet you STILL have absolutely no evidence of that claim. Get outta here.....just like Mickey would have told you.

You certainly didn't have the guts to come talk to me.

First of all, his name is "McCarty" not McCartney. He was not a member of the Beatles. Secondly, I can assure you that he would not waste his time trying to justify to you, me or anyone outside of the LSHAA, any accusations of recruiting. Lastly, almost all of us on this board are passionate about some school or team, and feel the need to vent when things don't go right, or as we feel they should. Some of us just carry it a little further than others. No harm no foul!

McCartney is our coach at FP. And some folks don’t know when to quit, Sargon. Thanks for the good words and a mature attitude... we go way back and I do appreciate it.
That’s the end of all Neville discussions for this year as far as I’m concerned.

Neville wins in the rain by 7 points. In my humble opinion...

It likely was the end of the discussion concerning Neville, long before you accused and challenged the Neville coach.

I never accused Mickey of recruiting. I only pointed out the fact the Neville, each season, has a lot of kids move into their program without making an actual move. I also stated that there are Neville fans and boosters at other people’s games constantly talking to parents and players about coming to Neville. Mickey knows about this and is complicit in it. You Neville apologists can say it doesn’t happen, but the rest of us know it does.

Everyone keeps saying, "Neville has better coaching." like they don't have any players. While Neville is young in certain positions, they have some really good ballplayers. Maybe they don't have D1 players all over the field, but they have what Neville normally has, a bunch of hard working kids, with athletic ability, who know the system and are used to winning. I think that everyone who says Neville has better coaching is selling Bastrop's Coaches short, as well as, not giving enough credit to the players Neville has on the field!

I think it’s pretty obvious that Neville has superior coaching. It’s not selling Bastrops staff short it is what it is. In my opinion Bastrop has the best team talent wise they’ve had since 08. They have several players that are going to play college ball on offense and defense. Just the qb and the fact that they have 3 legitimate d1 receivers makes them dangerous. But they are all over the place scheme wise. The losses they have had this year are maddening. Airline game being a perfect example they had a 12 point lead with 2 minutes remaining in the first half and the ball at the 50. Yet somehow manage to be down at halftime in a game they had complete control of. This is just one example of a very frustrating season as a whole. Yet somehow they’re still in control of their own destiny. That’s a testament to the players in my opinion...

This is not a young Neville team either by any stretch. They are going to get hammered along both of their lines to graduation. The lines are the strength of this team. I think they’re better this year than they’ll be next year...

Ram, I agree that Neville will get hit hard by graduation. When I said they were young in certain positions, I meant they graduated their entire secondary, most of whom were D1 players. They graduated 2/4 on the d-line and 2 linebackers. On the offensive side, 3 wide receivers, both starting running backs and most importantly their two year starting QB. So, as you can see, even though some of those positions were replaced by seniors they had very little varsity game experience. As for next year, hold onto your hat. Neville will be just fine. We can go ahead and make that wager for next year too! Like Bastrop, the Tigers have some good talent coming up through the system.
