Southplaq. You have your sources about Riverside tell me you opinion on them as a team and the matchup. Sure man. Let me start off by saying that, offensively, this is one of the most balanced, talented, and athletic in the state. They are averaging close to 42ppg, scoring 34 on Rummel and 28 on Barbe. Against 2A schools, they are averaging closer to 45ppg. They are led by QB, Jordan Loving. This kid can play! It doesn't hurt that he has 4 very talented WRs in Kash Foley, and the 3-Bs (Banks, Bingham, and Butler). When defenses adjust to this vicious aerial attack in and attempt to slow them down, they simply hand the ball off to RB Cheneau. This is a very dangerous offense that can score with anyone. Here's the problem: DEFENSE, especially pass defense. This is what has killed them all year long. What's going to make the difference in this game is Notre Dame's defense. I don't think Riverside has faced a defense as good as the Pios' I think a few key stops and a couple of forced turnovers, will allow the Pio's to keep that Riverside offense off the field, switching The momentum. RA simply tries to outscore teams, but I think the ND defense will not allow them to get in a good enough groove to do so. Athletic-wise, I give the edge to RA, but coaching and discipline are huge advantages for ND. Honestly, I think ND's defense will force 3 or more turnovers and that will make the difference.

I have to start keeping better notes 😮😮 Butler didn’t play all year to concentrate on round ball. Nice, good decision. That's his best sport. He did do a decent job filling in at QB for an injured Loving 2 seasons ago, and was a heck of a WR last season.

Butler recently signed with Alabama and has a chance at a legitimate pro future. He was amazing on the AAU circuit. Garland Robertson(#8) goes both ways more this year. A fantastic story he is. He’s the best they have in that secondary. Plays Safety. Totally agree with the offense comments. They stretch you very thin, have some nice wrinkles, but Foley is the mismatch that makes everything work.

Indy......how do you feel this year’s Pios team compares to the last two years on O, D & ST? Our defense is really good but maybe not quite as good as 2015. Our offense is better and our special teams is a lot better, especially our kicking game. Give me your take on RA

Compared to the 2015 RA team that faced ND, this year’s RA team is significantly better in its passing offense. If you recall, in 2015 Loving missed the regular season due to an injury and Jared Butler played QB. Butler injured his neck in the 1st Qtr of the State game and Loving entered the game. He tried hard but our passing game was limited due to him not taking a snap almost the entire season. At this point Loving is throwing the ball very well to a talented group of receivers.
Our run game has been inconsistent this season. We are built to use the pass to setup the run. During 2015 our run game was solid due to the threat of Butler running from the QB spot. This season we need the passing game to be effective in order for our running game to have success.
Defensively we have some talent this year but we aren’t as good throughout the lineup as we were in 2015 (or 2016). We also lack the depth on defense that we had the past 2-3 years. We have had some good stretches on defense during the season but lack consistency. Our defense against the run has struggled at times but we have also faced some quality offenses like De La Salle, Barbe & Rummel.
In 2015 our kicker had a very strong leg and did a very nice job on kickoffs, FGs and punting. Our kicking game this year has been solid but not quite as good as 2015. Our return game this year has been terrific and has played a big part in several of our wins.
Looking forward to to an exciting semi final matchup with the Pios. ND is always very well coached, physical and disciplined. It will take RA’s best game of the season to get the W.

I agree with your offensive take. But IMO RA’s defense is no way near what it was in 2015, our offense is better so I give ND the edge when we have the ball. Offensively RA does have an excellent passing game and multi talented receivers. If we can’t get pressure on Loving it will be hard to keep y’all out of the end zone. Our kicker puts his kicks in the end zone so that nullifies the advantages y’all might have there. It’s gonna be a good game but if it comes down to coaching ND will win again. I also looked at y’all Roster. Looks like y’all will be in a bind the next few years.

Riverside’s qb is the real deal. The guy was extremely accurate and poised in the pocket.
Riverside’s defense was much worse than I expected. It looked like they didn’t even want to be there.
Eventually Notre Dame’s depth came through. Good game by both teams

Yea once ND started blitzing up the middle rather than the edges, it disrupted his timing. I was starting to feel sorry for RA's defense. They were absolutely done. Congrats to the Rebels on a hard fought game.

That was one of the best high school football games I have seen in a very long time.
