Kinder 15 Ville Platte 0- Jacket pitchers limited VP to 1 hit and VP pitchers walked 14 batters thus Kinder only had 6 hits. Jayce Rice started on the bump and struck out 5 getting the win.

Trent Johnson went 3 for 4 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored to lead the Jackets attack. Even though we lost I can't be to disappointed with the improvement we have made this season. |

Of their 7 remaining games i can see them winning at least 5. That would give them an 18-8 record, Top 8 seed, and possibly the first 2 rounds at home. I watched the game and I will give it to LA they are not a push over anymore. That is good for our district. |

Covington beat Northshore 2-1 last night in 8 innings. This ended Northshore's 17 game winning streak! Covington pitcher Zach Smith with 15k's on the night!

Houma Christian 10 Covenant Christian 2 Tuesday Night at Houma's Southland Field Houma Christian's Senior pitching ace Brock Theriot tossed a complete game 2 hitter while logging 9 K's & the Warriors Senior Shortstop & LSU Signee Gavin Dugas went 4 for 4 with a Double, 2 Singles, & a Grand Slam Homerun. This was his second Homerun in as many games after returning to the Warriors lineup 3 games ago after missing a month due to an injury. The Warriors powerful offense scored in each of the first 5 innings & scratched 10 Runs across on 10 Hits. The Warriors are now 19-5 Overall & 2-0 in District & the #1 Seed in the latest Division IV Power Ratings. Next up for the Warriors is St Martin's Episcopal (16-9 Overall, 2-0 District, & #11 Seed in Div. IV) at 4:00 P.M. Thursday at Warrior Field.

Houma Christian looked like a baseball team playing in a football game, or maybe a football team playing in a baseball game, especially in the 2nd Quarter (or 2nd Inning) when St. Martin's Episcopal scored 2 Touchdowns (or 14 Runs). I mean it was an inning to forget & I'm talking about botched defensive plays, errant throws, & lots of walked batters. While their team was struggling to make a play on the field, the coaches seemed oblivious to what was going on & were either unable, or unwilling to rally their troops, make a pitching change, & any other lineup changes necessary at that time. Thank God that the players never gave up, battled on, & the coaches finally made the necessary changes. Starting 1st Baseman McCade LeBlanc came on to pitch in relief, several Warrior players came up with big hits, including Shortstop Gavin Dugas, who hit a Homerun for the third game in a row. Hopefully the Warriors will flush this one & get ready for their next game. They travel to New Roads to take on Catholic-Pointe Coupee at 4:30 P.M. today. In closing, I want to congratulate the St. Martin's Episcopal team that played a great game & I wish them well going forward.

Baseball is such a crazy game and that’s why it’s the greatest game on the planet. Covington beats a Northshore team that at the time was ranked 4th in the state with their only loss to Brother Martin by one run and not to mention they had a 17 game win streak snapped. Then that very same Covington team gets swept by Hammond. A team that won’t even make the playoffs. Crazy game but that’s why I love it!

Now the pressure is on ND, assuming they don't look past Welsh to Sam Houston the next day. We both close the season with a tough one. We got St. Louis on Friday. |
