Should be a good one for Cenla. They play in week five. Both should be undefeated and probally be Cenla game of week. Lots of talent on both teams and i believe both are stronger this year. Who you got. I'm going Giants 34-21.

First lets get the Grant/Jena and Red River/ASH games finished this week, stay healthy and see what each team looks like going into Week 5.

You right Blake. So far, so good. Knock on wood. Would be nice to keep everyone healthy. Seems like we was snakebit last year with season ending injuries to some key players.

Last year it seemed like every week someone very talented for Jena was lost to either a season ending injury or one that made them miss significant time. Then the flu hit and i think just about everyone on the team was affected.

That is sad really. Coach Hallman is one of the best coaches in Cenla history. Just a really great coach.

Last year it was like 50-0 at half. Coach Roark will not rin the score up though. This year the JV has played more than the starters. Every game has been over by the first quarter. The only team with a pulse was on scrimmage with Franklin Parish but it was short lived due to weather.

As far as Ash game, i think it gonna be a dogfight. I say 20-14 Jena Giants.

Jay Roark is the coach at Jena, and he has the opportunity to become the all time winningest coach in Jena history this year, i believe he would tie the record at ASH and would set a new record at Avoyelles should they stay undefeated. Yes the schedule this year has been very soft. I think i have projected out our opponents win loss record combined to be something like 33-67. Does anyone know if ASH's QB has returned? i have not followed ASH other than the scores.

Blake, coming from a source that went to Ash/ Peabody game being that he played in a thursday night game, Ash has a new qb. Hesni is at slot and Clark is back at wr. Also a new rb that looked good. Transfer from texas. Richard Chark.

Interesting. I knew they had moved hesni over, and yes the running back is very good. I was hoping it wasn't anything that would Clark away for an extended amount of time.

I thought is was Dewayne Roarke pitcher for Jena all those years ago that broke my left index finder on a wicked inside curve ball. He went on to coach at Louisiana College i think basketball . Man he had a curve ball never did hit it.

We scrimmaged Jena. We were ahead of them 2-1 in td's before weather stopped it. Played ASH in the jamboree and lost 17-7. Two good teams....I like Jena to win

This game should be explosive on offense on both sides. Both teams can score in bunches and quickly. Last night it looked like tecmo against grant.

Interesting side note. Jena Head Coach Jay Roark is 50-20 I believe. His next win he will tie Mack Fowler (51-55) for the most All Time Wins in Jena Football history.

And jay doesnt really ever get the credit he deserves. That whole staff is really changing the direction of that program. He has had 70 kids the last couple of years and are making stadium improvements and adding a new fieldhouse. Jena is fortunate to have this staff

So according to the consensus of the pickem contest ASH is going to win right?

I have Jena by 10.
Jena will handle that ASH Def front and control the ball and the clock.
ASH will score on some big plays, but Jena will control tempo.
Turnovers will be the difference.
Jena 33 ASH 23

Turnovers were the difference last year, ASH took the lead with about 8 minutes to play. Jena had a long kickoff return followed by a quick score, a fumble recovery another quick score and then a pick 6. The game was really close back and forth exciting game to watch. Once the turnovers happened ASH went from leading to down 20 with 5 to play, its tough to come back from that. The game is at ASH this year, that will lessen the crowd noise from the Jena fans somewhat, but we do travel well. I see this game coming down to which ever team can control the turnovers wins.

I think for ash to win Jena will have some bad breaks. I think Jena win by 2 scores

I think jenas defense is a very stout unit. That front 7 should be able to contain the run and force ash to pass. Last year basically the same defense held Eric London to just over 100 yards when he was in the top 5 in the nation

London had 183 rushing yards last year against Jena.
