Abbeville vs Kaplan is the Battle for the Russo (I think that’s the formal name for it)

Not an official name, but BR area people refer to the Dunham/Episcopal game as the "Tuition Bowl".

Byrd/Shreve also has been named the Backyard Brawl recently. Can't wait to see how much extra spice is thrown into the rivalry with Shreve now hiring Wilburn, who was a former Byrd QB, lol.
Here's some Cenla game names...
Bolton/Marksville: The Coosh-Coosh Bowl (unofficially given by the late Jimmy Touchet) St. Mary's/Menard: The Bishop's Bowl (as the only two Diocese of Alexandria football-playing schools) Ferriday/Vidalia: Concordia Parish Classic Grant/Montgomery: Parish Pride Kickoff Classic Tioga/Grant: Battle on the Border

DeQuincy vs Vinton “The Big Cat Classic” Pickering vs Rosepine “Battle For The Big Dog Jug” I am asking because I am genuinely curious, when did DeQuincy and Vinton get this nickname for the football contest? I know it is a very old rivalry and looking back years in articles, yearbooks, etc…I can’t find any name for the game until a few years back. Is this a new thing?

Yea the name kind of came on the seem rather quietly in 2017 and 2018, a certain individual in town who is very passionate about the program came up with the name while at a crawfish boil at his buddies house in Vinton, both kind of agreed that it sounds pretty catchy, that individual then mentioned it to a couple of the booster club higher ups and was mildly agreed on, as far as the trophy, the booster club contacted Vinton’s booster club and to my understanding both agreed to put money towards buying the trophy and here we are now! Honestly this should’ve been done a long time ago but atleast we have it now! Personally I think it’s great for both communities and fan bases and it just adds a little more spice to the rivalry. By the way I hope y’all found the trophy… I’d imagine that thing was not cheap..

Ruston and Neville don't have a rivalry name? Wow. I'll create one. The Battle of the Egos of the Upper Class I was just about to post about this one. I don't remember this game ever having an official name, but it's one the oldest and most storied rivalries in the entire state. When I was in school, we had a whole Neville hate week that culminated with a Thursday night pep rally where we had a bonfire and burned a stuffed tiger. It's been a long time since that was a district game, so it will have some extra meaning and motivation behind it next year, especially since they should be the top two teams in the district. I'll be curious when those two teams play since Ruston-WM has traditionally been the Week 10 matchup during district play. I'd love to see Ruston open 2-5A play with Neville and close with West Monroe.

You need to think of a good name for the WM v Delhi charter rivalry! Battle of the wannabe’s? Micky v Mini?

Franklinton and Bogalusa had the Pine Burr Trophy. Will likely end though. Probably not playing anymore.
