No, the worst loss was to American Heritage. That game was over in the 2nd quarter. I have never ever seen such a discrepancy in talent and coaching against a WM team ever since Shows was there. I sat on Heritage side and met some of the fans. They brought a skeleton crew to the game of players, coaches, and fans. They played half of their kids both ways (iron man) and ran cover zero, blitz every play and blow everything up. West Monroe had one play that was big all night. The rest was hike and QB tackled almost instantly.
The game use to be online. It isn't anymore.
And before you say that WM team sucked remember they only lost to Barbe in the semifinals by a fluke 3 TD in 2 minutes comeback and ran for over 500 yards that game. Cam Robinson was a junior that year. West Monroe was huge and Xavier Woods was also on that team.
Didn't matter. Total destruction. Had their top receiver not been hurt in 2nd quarter it likely is a worse beating.
Think the score was 35-7.
Landry Walker was close in 3rd and WM had a chance to tie it I think late 3rd quarter down 27-21.
I was at this game too. Evangel did dominate, and it was very similar.
But, the American Heritage game was unique in how they were dominated.
That team had little emotion at all. It was all business and there to take the money and leave.
Defensively, in not poopting you, they were in the backfield on "hut". Right when the ball was snapped, often times they were on Mims as soon as he got it.
A few times he got the ball and just fell.
They played with zero coverage over top (cover 0) and sent a run blitz every damn play. I believe if you took the one busted run in the 2nd quarter away they had about 30 yards total offense.
So it was how they were dominated and the length of miles that team took to get here from Florida to do it on their field.
It was dead. The entire WM stands cleared our before 4th quarter. It was truly unique and have never been seen likely since the 1980's.
