My personal opinion on this: This is a big W for Louisiana. Louisiana has been missing out on a lot of tax revenue that could be gained from sports betting by gamblers going to Mississippi, where it is already legal, to place bets or placing bets illegally online.

For sure. Wish my stupid parish would’ve passed it

Hey good thing is since 55/64 voted yes it will be legal statewide Thought each parish had to vote to allow it in their respective parish? Here is the problem, even though it was approved by the parishes, they now have to write a constitutional amendment to allow it in the state. The constitution explicitly denounces gambling. Current wording which is a farce calls it gaming as it exists. Yet, they are required to put out a gambling addiction warning. At this point, depending on what that legislation looks like it may or may not pass the final muster and could be challenged in court. Especially, with this group of bone heads that have been elected to the Louisiana Legislature this past round, don't expect this thing to be written with any coherence. It will mostly be legalese.
