Quitman Girls beat 5A Haughton something like 41-27. Haughton not very good, but still a a good win against a much bigger school. JH girls beat Weston 69-63. Boys coming up now

J-H Boys lose to Weston 74-64. Not a bad showing from us, as we’re without at least 3 starters (our best players) and 2 other players due to Football. Really young group this year as all we lost was our star Ladamien Bradford to Texas A&M. Should be a well rounded team that can play fast and have many shooters. Size will be our biggest problem. I expect us to still be one of the top 8-12 teams in 2A, but we have to learn to play without the guy who carried us last year. Weston has a solid group this year. They shot the ball really well. Their Team looks better than last year in my opinion. Might make some noise in Class B

If so, how's he looking this year, particularly with using length rather than getting unnecessary fouls?

I felt they relied way too much on him, and he often wouldn’t produce. This year seems to be a very even team with no “star” or 6’8 guy you almost feel obligated to feed. Moved the ball well, and shot really well.

Port Allen defeated Lake Charles College Prep 80-27.
Port Allen only dressed 8 players and 2 were freshmen. Not enough players for JV. I did not go to game but did talk to people that went.
