ABSOLUTELY!!! The majority of the organization has a BIG problem with his "direction". Thanks for the clarification. He wont last. Plan is in progress as we speak. How is his standing with the organization today? To me the article proves he is dishonest, any type of professional with integrity would never say or write thing like that. well he's still the boss... even if it's in name only

The report to NFHS is not about HIS standing but about the organizations standing. He need to convey to them the urgency of the situation without mixing any words. DUMPSTER FIRE, while not a business term would be accurate. Other termination he could have used: Vindictive, loss of institutional control, unethical, immoral, bankrupt, corrupt, exploitative. More colorful descriptors for the LHSAA: HMS Titantic, The Edmund Fitzgerald, USS ARIZONA....... "Does any one know where the love of God goes When the waves turn the minutes to hours? The searches all say they'd have made Whitefish Bay If they'd put fifteen more miles behind her They might have split up or they might have capsized They may have broke deep and took water And all that remains is the faces and the names Of the wives and the sons and the daughters" Lyrics by Gordon Lightfoot

Henry Kiissinger couldn't resolve this, none of you splitters want it resolved. You will just look for the next excuse. True, we see it as resolved. You see it as resolved, but a whole portion of the represented schools does not. While I understand that a majority vote is what it takes to pass, when the losing percentage is large, it becomes obvious there is a problem. Regardless of how the numbers worked out. I would agree with you if the split passed by 80-90%, but it didn't. At some point, you people need to just admit that the problem is that you don't want public and private schools playing together. At all. In any sport.

Dishonest? Really? Trying to keep a 100 year old organization together and following bylaws is dishonest. I understand that a lot of people don't like his methods or his personality but to say he is dishonest, plain and simple leads me to believe that you have a problem with his direction, plain and simple. ABSOLUTELY!!! The majority of the organization has a BIG problem with his "direction". Thanks for the clarification. He wont last. Plan is in progress as we speak. Yes, a plan is in progress. Why on Earth would Bonine stick around when the ship is sinking? He isn't responsible for it sinking and he's not going to sink with it. And I don't blame him. So yes, a plan is in progress. It's called Bonine is making plans to walk away.

Yes, a plan is in progress. Why on Earth would Bonine stick around when the ship is sinking? He isn't responsible for it sinking and he's not going to sink with it. And I don't blame him. And the question will be, who in their right mind would want a job where you are facing financial ruin as an organization and the majority of the members are ok with it? I am feeling appropriately musical today. Here is a little ditty that fits the situation. I change some of the lyrics not to offend: "Let's make some noise (Ho) Let's make some noise, come on The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire (We don't need no water, let the m$%&(*&&^%%& burn) (Burn, m$%&(*&&^%%&, burn) The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire (We don't need no water, let the m$%&(*&&^%%& burn) (Burn, m$%&(*&&^%%&, burn) The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire Say 'Ho' (Ho) Say 'Ho' (Ho)" By Rock Master Scott and the Dynamic.

I don't think anyone can come up with a system that will satisfy everyone, but that said, I have always been told if the final product makes both sides cringe a little then it will probably be a good one. Neither side getting everything they want, having to compromise hopefully would work. As for trust, I'm not sure he can. I know a lot of "split supporters" on here have either said or made it known that the "select" schools forced Bonine to end the split. I don't know if they did or didn't, but without knowing the whole story sometimes when a story gets repeated over & over it becomes the truth. No one forced him to end the split, that's absurd. But the executive committee made getting back together a high priority when they hired him. Right or wrong he was trying his best to resolve the task at hand. A few members of the executive committee, not a majority.

I'll say this... let's say the finances take a hit... no one is getting rich off of this anyway. If it's truly about the kids you eschew a part of your profit to do what is best for them...

I don't think that Bonine can really lead the LHSAA effectively.
Given its present structure, I don't think that ANYONE could lead the LHSAA effectively.
I don't blame Bonine for the split. It was going to happen, no matter who the executive director was. And it is going to stay until someone can show the split proponents (principals/ADs) a negative outcome or detriment. Right now, there has been no downside. Why should they change anything? I don't know how you can blame Bonine for a majority getting their way, and then seeing a positive outcome, in their opinion. He is the Executive Branch, and the principals are the Legislative Branch. He can only enforce the rules that the principals pass.
This is not to say that he doesn't deserve some criticism. His handling of the parliamentary issues involved in discovering the original vote on the split was a little clunky, and could probably been handled better. (I was there that day, and it was one strange press conference.) But he was put in a position that he could not win.
The NHFS letter this week was unfortunate. I suspect that both split and non-split supporters would agree with the tone of the letter (if they read it), But you have to know that it is going to piss people off, especially if they didn't like you to begin with.
I don't agree with people that call him dishonest or a liar. At worst, he just didn't have the skills to manage a difficult situation. At best, certain people were not going to let him "fix"a situation that they were perfectly happy with.
The majority is the majority. Until you can give them definitive proof that their actions have damaged situation, they ain't changing their mind. And I don't think that you can do that.

No LHSAA money is flowing to the schools. SOME schools might see gates go down, but not very many. Money never flowed to the schools, the schools flow money to the LHSAA. If a third of the schools leave, the remaining schools will have to flow about 40-50% more to maintain the LHSAA as status quo. I'm sure the budget can be trimmed some but where? There will be no reduction in playoffs, no reduction in rules, if anything they will ad to both.

if all those schools leave, they have to reduce the number of playoff brackets bc no one will be playing in them... also a lot of the rules relating to private schools and recruiting will become moot

Remember it's still the dance bloc of self serving principals that are running the LHSAA now! And they better tighten the rules or the same couple teams in each class will every year,,then what?

There are more public schools violating the recruitment and inducement rules than private. So, which rule aimed specifically at private schools will no longer be necessary? I am curious to know.
