There is a lot of confusion, and disagreement going on in Baton Rouge right now. No one knows what the future holds. There may not be an LHSAA, a BIG NICE BUILDING, a multimillion dollar budget or hired gun attorneys, or out of state commissioners with dreams of romance between everyone, but come late August, in places like Oak Grove, Haynesville, Many, and Kentwood, Louisiana, ...football will be played in front of home town crowds that have a tradition going back 100 years in this state. I'm not a fan of politicians, lawyers, or government and that's what this has become. All the things that are wrong in America, a cancer, an abomination, a nightmare...doesn't matter what side you are on. Maybe it's time for a scale-back, or a full scale abortion. All I know is I'm ready for the attention to turn from "grown people" back to kids. Football will be here when the dust settles.

All true, but games will also be played at St Eds, Sacred Heart, St. Michaels and many other Catholic schools that have been part of the LHSAA for 96 years also, but those traditions will be discriminated against, cast aside by principals with no principles. Football will be here alright, great lessons for the next generation, goes hand in hand with care and bernie sanders. Geez

well, the aggrieved could when filing their suit, ask that all high school sports be suspended, stayed, delayed, until all arguments have been heard in a court of law. If a class action is placed against the LHSAA based on discrimination until the aggrieved have their rights defended according to both the constitution of the State of Louisiana and the United States of America, a stay would affect all members of the LHSAA, so no one would be playing. The stay could include all sports or only those sports that are involved in the suit action. And we all know how once this goes to court anything could happen. While this would be a nuclear option deepening the rift, it most definitely is on the table. It would have rippling affects across the US to other states. Gates would be losts, advertising dollars would not be spent and have to be refunded as well as seasons shortened.
I know this post will not be popular. One way this could be avoided is if the LHSAA would allow all teams wanting to leave to leave but agree that by school choice, the associations could play each other and count their win loss record in their power ratings. It would show good faith moving forward to not try to further harm the private and public members of a separate association within the state.

I am sure there will be quick movement after the vote today.
