[br Coach cook never spoke out publicly.... He told coach Fuselier that he could put his name on the proposal. He agreed with it. Kinder said if we get Notre dame, we want sacred heart as well. We wanted a 6 or 8 team district. Sacred heart didn't want to come to our district. What are these years u speak of that Notre dame was in a district with dequincy, vinton, and kinder? I'll be waiting on this one! I'll agree on welsh and lake Arthur. Coach cook is very well respected by kinder and the rest of the state. I'd like to get that in also. I don't appreciate the fact that Coach Fuselier is being cut down when the true facts aren't being stated. Notre dame is a fine program. Clearly one of the best in the state! A coach like Coach Cook could easily help relations with the public schools. Bonine would be wise to reach out to coaches like coach cook and coach Fuselier to resolve this issue. Forming the task force was a horrible idea. He left far to many schools out. It pissed those schools off. It made them feel like they had no voice. DOES MY PREVIOUS STATEMENT SOUND FAMILIAR?? I don't think it's over. I'd take a shot in January. The point of the thread was maintaining rivalries after a split or separate leagues. And I say it is impossible due to the fact that public schools don't want and lobby hard not to have some private schools in their districts. If that ever comes to a vote the same group of self serving principals will vote in their own interest only with no regard to the rest of the schools, public or private.

I'm going to comment on this, because it's nothing like you are portraying. When I first saw the district, I actually laughed. I, like most, thought it was pretty dumb. Since when has Notre dame ever been in a district with kinder, dequincy, and vinton? I can see Notre dame playing kinder, but playing the other 2 would be ridiculous! I can see Notre dame playing welsh and mamou as well. It made no logistical sense! Another thing, no district wants a 7 team district. They want a 6 or 8 team district. Since u know so much, did coach Fuselier call coach cook and ask him his opinion? The answer is yes! They spoke about the issue and coach cook didn't really care, but he preferred to be in the Acadiana area district. These meetings are quite common, and everyone has a voice in the matter. The state knew coach Fuselier was correct. If not, Notre dame would have been placed in the district with kinder. I just thought I'd set the record straight and also give the full version of the story. Google and Read the live tweets from the advocate. Indest made the same case that we belonged with kinder. He said he would argue it to death. Kinder lobbied hard to get sacred Heart, that's 7 also. He did call cook and asked him to stay neutral. Louie never said anything one way or another. ND over iits 50 year history's has bounced back from east to west in 3a and 2a. Why would ND playing Dequincy and Vinton be ridiculous? Its no worse than playing West St Mary and Jeanerette? Same travel time.

If those principals vote something like this down, we'll truly know it isn't about the kids, stopping good rivalry games in New Orleans from the other side of the state. If you want to keep us and our fanbase in the LHSAA, this is a good way

In the early 90s and mid 90s Notre Dame was in our district along with Welsh, Vinton, South Cameron and couple others. We won a couple district championships over ND in those years. It was a very competitive district.

I remember Welsh and South Cameron also being pretty good back then.
