Why is the majority of the negative media reports on the June 8ths vote and the split come from the southeast Louisiana area?

Ed Daniels, Ken Trahan, Jim Derry, Rod Walker, Ron Brocato thought you were talking about schools not individuals The Southern part of the state, most 5A and 4A (not all). They realized that C,B, 1A, 2A and about 2/3 of 3A are the drivers behind the split. Large schools have no problem playing anyone with a couple of exceptions. Lafayette High for example has been very vocal pro split for years. But that's because they have trouble being competitive against 3A much less 5A schools and large private schools. The same years they got skull drug by STM, they got skull drug by Barbe, Sulphur and Acadiana and Northside. REPEATEDLY. SE and most South Central schools where the majority of large schools reside realize that they lose a vital and important (and colorful) competition and more importantly TRADITION. Those who support the split lack the appreciation for the traditions that have been established.

Southeast Louisiana media is driving the hate behind the split and few private schools around Laf. You hear nothing out of the rest of the state. The schools around New Orleans are worried about themselves and care nothing about the rest of the state.

I know that's hard for you to understand along with discrimination and segregation. Where are the pro split writers? They have the same rights.

Sorry but that's rich coming from a split supporter... and it's not just a Chalmette fan worried about not playing Holy Cross... How do you plan to compensate McDonogh 35 for a gate they'll no longer receive against St. Augustine? Or the town of Covington bc St. Paul's and Covington won't play? The state loses if we lose those type of games

The state loses if we lose those type of games I'm sure the Catholic schools task force will agree, and advise them to remain in the LHSAA.

I haven't read anything from them. Maybe if they had any they could put something that made sense. Maybe we would think other than y'all want a watered down system and more trophies.

Isn't it obvious to you that the majority doesn't care what you people think? Things are the way they are supposed to be. Now deal with it.

Sure it's obvious there is a block schools that feel they can't compete or refuse to work at it. It's the whole reason for the split. But it doesn't mean that we have to accept it without a fight. It's a shame y'all don't work as hard in football as y'all do playing Dodge ball! Geez

You can write a letter to the editor of The Advocate or the Times Picayune. That way there will be something pro split in the paper. Of course you will have to put your real name on the letter. They won't except Btown and they will check to make sure you are a real person before they print it. But this your chance to tell all the private school people how you feel about them not just ones on this board.

Weeks maybe; even months. Hell it might even be years from now BUT YOU WILL ACCEPT IT - ONE WAY OR ANOTHER.

I understand yalls side and reasons for the split... but there are simply too many unintended consequences... there will be another association, and there will be interleague competition in non district and a working agreement in both best interests. I don't get yalls infatuation with the LHSAA anyway. If as y'all say, there will be football on Friday nights regardless, do yall really care what league it's in?

So, this whole split stuff has been going on for so long, even I have lost track of the reason why all this got started in the first place. What was the original reason given as to why we needed "select" and "non-select" divisions?

Apparently there is. You keep repeating it on this board, and there is a whole world out there that's not getting your message. I'm sure Mr. Bonine reads The Advocate. Here is your chance to let him know what a poor job you think he does.

You know, like not having the championship in the Dome possibly. Kids love that and yall are risking that. The split isn't the problem in and of itself, it's what else is coming with it now. And I get the sense if a new association comes and is ran better, you'd still prefer the LHSAA bc you think you run the LHSAA...
