I thought his comments on the reasons for not supporting good alternatives in the past were very revealing.

Perfect assessment of the situation. Really sad when you realize the reasoning cited by some public school principals on why they voted against the play up option.

J.T. was part of the problem when they were in 4A... they didn't move up to 5A and it was because "we don't know if our girls' sports can compete" keep in mind these girls sports were pretty good... volleyball, basketball, and softball all could have held their own, as they were in 4A at the time... but you play by the rules, not by the rules you wish you had one other thing... when they sent Curtis and Evangel down to 2A, it's not that the other 2A schools resented Curtis and Evangel, it's that they resented being told that their championships were less prestigious than the 4A and 5A ones the bigger schools sought to protect, since the reasoning of the move was to put them in a class that would hurt their recruiting. Curtis and Evangel might be gone from 2A now, but that's what the other 2A schools won't forget

Curtis and Evangel might be gone from 2A now, but that's what the other 2A schools won't forget I have stated this over and over again. Instead of addressing the real issue, north Louisiana principals led the LHSAA down a path of destruction. Make this totally clear, this is a North Louisiana issue compounded by poor leadership, not just within the LHSAA in Tommy Henry and Kenny Henderson, but with the principals that have done a disservice to the institution. Particularly those in North Louisiana. It was not the private schools that threw 1A and 2A under the bus. It was an effort led by the W. Monroe, Ruston High and Captn Shreve High school principals. Their effort to rid themselves of Evangel not JC was the knot on the neck. Unapologetically, they disparage Evangel and JC, then disparaged all of 1A and 2A. Today the 1A, 2A and 3A North Louisiana principals are leading the LHSAA down a path another path of destruction. How are they doing it? With Lies, Distortions and Tricks of the records. It does not matter that JC and e have not won a recent state championship in the reasoning, it is now about punishing ALL private schools. It will not be long after the privates completely leave the association that their vengeance will turn against the larger schools and the metro area schools of all sizes.

Great article and opinion.
Sadly, it'll be dismissed by those that matter because they can't see through their own non-sense to admit that mistakes have been and are continuing to be made.
