Where can one find a listing of the select schools that are in class B and C?
Did these two classes get combined for the sake of championships for the upcoming basketball and base/softball seasons?

In Class B it looks like maybe 3 select schools. 28 non select Class C it looks like 3 or 4, not sure on a couple of them. 18-21 non select Pretty sad if they don't combine those classes back together.

Except that they don't want to... the exec committee members in favor of the split used this to sabotage the vote and turn a huge block of schools for the split

Am I wrong to think that some of these schools do not play all of the split sports? Taking away football of course. I only recognize a few names from playoff brackets from the past. Good news though...They are ALL PLAYOFF TEAMS now. Voting for playoffs is easier than working for playoffs.

Your B and C "Select" schools will have to accept any decision that the public schools make for them. So you more than likely will get combined and put into Div !V with the A schools. You best start playing up this year to get a feel for the competition.

only the class C schools would really be playing "up"... B and 1A are the same size schools
it was decided that the sports with now 12 state champions would keep 7 classes, and divide into now 5 divisions, and i'm assuming 3A and 4A will combine as in football
based on enrollments it makes sense for B to combine with 1A, but the LHSAA in its infinite wisdom will probably want to combine B and C
C nonselect is 26 schools and C select (Division V) is 13
B nonselect is 29 and B select is 4...

I concur with your analysis.

So, if they combine B & C, select schools have 17 to compete for a title. (some do not play all sports so...) and non-select have 55 for the same... looks like the public schools screwed over themselves in this one...

If 1A, B and C select schools were combined that would be a total of 47 schools (29 football schools, 18 non-football schools).
You could make decent sized districts with 47 schools for basketball, baseball/softball, etc...
For football you wouldn't necessarily need districts, just a mandate that you have to play a certain number of games from teams out of the 29 in that class in order to make the playoffs which would be determined by the power point system currently in place. The rest of your games could be against any opponent you wanted.
While I think district competition is a good thing and should be preserved for tradition's sake, it's no longer required to make the playoffs anyway.

if they want to "improve the split" as btown says, this is the kind of stuff they need to do...

I still believe that if this, combining classes and reducing playoff numbers would have been brought up before the vote that a lot of the small schools and schools with a power ranking between 16 and 32 (who would now be out of the playoffs) wouldn't have voted for the split.

This! And when they do reduce the numbers of who is in the playoffs. The ones who voted themselves in but are now right back out, will begin to see how they can vote themselves back in... and away we go.

When you can simply declare yourself a playoff team, there are no real playoff teams. Just more games between recreational teams.

I declared myself the Ultimate World Champion of the Drive Way league. Same thing.
