within a year?
If they are planning to do it, they could really stick it to the public schools if they waited till after redistricting and scheduling is done and THEN split off. Or wait and split off during a non-redistricting year...in the middle of two year contracts.

i think we'll see this season that the big schools really don't need each other to be successful... 50-something 5A schools is enough to feel "statewide" and play for a legit championship, and the Catholic League schools will take in Catholic and St. Paul's, telling Evangel and Curtis to go away. they'll find legit teams to play from other states, and the Catholic League championship will be their version of a state championship, which they'll claim is more legit bc they think they have the better teams

We will see a separation announcement after the season and the following schools will bolt. Jesuit Rummel Brother Martin John Curtis St. Pauls Chappelle Shaw Catholic BR Holy Cross Mt. Carmel St. Aug St. Josephs Academy of Our Lady Cabrini St. Michaels St. Thomas More Tuerlings Ursuline Vandebilt Parkview Baptist With the possibility of the following also moving the next year after that: Sacred Heart NO De La Salle Lusher Charter St. Louis Notre Dame Lafayette Christian Academy Catholic New Iberia St Edmunds Hanson Sacred Heart GC Hannan Episcopal Christian Life HS Menard Newman Northlake Christian John Paul II Sacred Heart VP St Mary ST Thomas Aquanias The 1A schoools will come over last but that would be 2 years out. Evangel, Calvary Baptist, St. Fredricks, Quachita Christian will not come over. They will either stay in the LHSAA or become independent. Quachita Christian and St Fredricks might seek out the MAIS while e and CB could move to the Texas private school association. In year two or three, once the smaller schools come over, we will start to see some of the S. LA MAIS schools move to the new association as well.

If the Lab Schools, University and Southern Lab, come over in the first year, that would give you two Division 1 regions in the largest classification with two 8 team regions. Then you only have two non region games to play. A playoff for football would be based upon either power ratings or East vs West Playoff rounds. For example #1 East plays #8 West, #1 West plays #8 east etc.....

What makes you so certain that ECA won't come over? I don't think ECA will go independent. I could see them end up in a Texas league. I almost hope for that.
I don't think Calvary will leave the LHSAA unless they have to.

Imo no one will leave in the next few years. A financial strain will force a come to Jesus, continental convention, Vatican III, call it what you want meeting that will reconcile the two sides.

You left out several teams Riverside, Central Catholic of MC, E.D. White and St Charles Catholic. I can promise you that the Archdiocese of New Orleans will be all or nothing. So far they have given no sign of budging.
