how good are the Hamilton Christian boys this year?

how good are the Hamilton Christian boys this year? They lost 4 of their 5 starters from last year and have two new players so it's hard to say. They beat Ellender last night with a shot at the buzzer from halfcourt. Ellender is small and it caused them some serious problems. They have a lot of work to do. In another hour or so, they play Ruston so we'll see how that goes playing against a team that doesn't play small ball. I'll let you know how that goes.

I'll let you know how that goes. Hamilton lost to Ruston 50-46 tonight. It was a good game that either team could have won. Hamilton struggled to score down the stretch as Ruston played great defense and forced some tough shots and turnovers. Overall, I was impressed with Hamilton but the jury is still out on them as far as being competitive against good teams. I'll have to see them play a few more games.

I had to leave and will try to go back and watch some more of this tournament but Lafayette Christian and Wossman's girl played a great game. That little Richard girl was too much for them to handle in the end and LCA pulled away for a 64-57 win. I stayed for only a half of Fairview and Parkway girls. Parkway went into the half with a one point lead but lost by a point. Fairview is relentless pushing the ball up court. It's odd to see that but they are good at it. They are constantly speeding the game up with the press and wild style of offense.
St. Thomas More beat Southwood 58-46 in one boys semifinals game and will face Madison Prep in the championship game tonight at 7:30. Madison Prep beat Ruston in the other semifinal game, 54-46.
Will report on the consolation championship and championship games later.

Ranked #1 in the state for next year’s class and probably about to start rising up the national rankings.

She is something else. Geez!!!! 47? She's in complete control at all times. The killer for me was on one play she got the ball on the right wing, drove to her left beating the young lady who was guarding her. As she got into the middle of the lane with her heels on the free throw line, she squared up to shoot the jumper. The young lady guarding her, who happened to be taller than her, caught up to her and went up to block the shot. Sensing she was right there, Richard went up with it but shot the ball with her left hand (she's right-handed) and as ole' Joe Dean used to say when he was a color analyst doing SEC basketball, "it was nothing but string music". Unreal. It's so natural for her and that was one of many head-shaking plays she made in the game.

That’s the issue, I spoke with asst coach Torry about a month ago out getting food, he told me they are very very guard dependent this year, they don’t have the big guys they usually have. They were very concerned about Newman this year. And looking at the size and depth newman has, I see why. Newman is loaded. Probably the best team in state this year

Lady Knights won 61-40 and Jada had 36
