Enrollment numbers are due Oct 1st. Just curious, did your school numbers go up or down? Anybody on the bubble moving up or down? Notre Dame is at 390, down from 424

I think every school in this region has dropped enrollment due to people moving out to find work. When the oilfield picks back up, the numbers will go back up.

STM will move up to 5A D1 next re-class. They had two of their largest freshman classes in school history I am told the last couple of years and have a construction project in action to build new classrooms to accommodate future growth. This time they will move up and stay there for quite some time. Expetct their numbers to come in @1,200 kids.

Lake Charles Prep seems to be a lock to jump to 3A, if not then they will for sure be in 2A. East Beauregard had 238 last time so they were the biggest in 1A, will likely be back in 2A. Peabody might move back to 4A and believe it or not Buckeye is getting close. Winnfield has a very good chance of going back down to 2A, which would benefit them a lot. Bolton will definitely stay in 3A. Tioga won't jump this time but they are getting close to 5A. Basile is only about 50 kids away from 2A, but won't jump this time

The name of the school is Peabody Magnet, self explanatory.

The name of the school is Peabody Magnet, self explanatory. Do you have a problem with us? Nothing is self explanatory, of all the schools in Rapides, if we go back up to 4A, we'd be lucky. The way Pineville, ASH and Tioga have grown and still are growing, we can barely keep the kids who are in our zone coming to the school, let alone pulling kids into Magnet programs that have been reduced to a shell of what they used to be, because they were only a mechanism to get the RPSB out of that desegregation lawsuit. Let it go! While we're still technically a Magnet school, we can barely get the School Board to replace the wooden visitors bleachers that are about to fall in and pressbox that sways when the wind blows too hard. They built us a brand new school in 2 years that's beautiful to look at inside, but that has foundation problems and sewage problems and has since they day it opened. All while Pineville took almost 10 years to complete, and continue to get constant upgrades, Tioga has a newly renovated stadium. We're as public as public gets. There's no special privilege over there, there's not millions of dollars being flung around and its less kids being brought in across zone lines to our school than any of the ones I mentioned above, so what...are ASH, Pineville and Tioga select too?

I have zero problems with Peabody, sorry if you thought so. I have a problem with the wishy washy LHSAA.,there is no rhyme or reason in their decision making. But they did deem magnet schools select. Some are, some are not. Thruth is the LHSAA is a joke. All magnet, lab, and charter schools were used as stool pigeons, hung out to dry with the privates to skirt legal ramifications due to potential religious law suits.

The enrollment numbers were due yesterday, when will the public be able to see them? Usually it doesn't take long, but with the current state of the LHSAA, who knows.

I guess there is no way to know what the breakpoints will be for each class? Between 54 and 60. Are there any new schools that have come into the LHSAA in the last two years? Has there been any consolidations or closures?

Guessing new schools are small and enrollment down overall? The last couple cycles was 424 and 425. Prior to that it was 414
