What round would you expect nets to be cut down in celebration of a victory?
I ask, because I saw yesterday where the girls team from Buckeye High School cut down the nets for a second round victory (their first playoff game of the year due to a bye). I found this extremely odd and a little embarrassing. Especially since they had to come back against the #23 seed just to win the game at all.
Maybe I'm being a little too "get off my lawn," but I wouldn't expect nets to be cut down until you make it to Hammond, maybe not until you win the whole thing.

Still... this is celebrating mediocrity in my opinion.

As long as it’s the last home game, they got months to put the nets back up
And if the next round is away, they probably won’t like you cutting down the nets in their gym

I could understand them being cut down for a district title, or something like that, but not for the regional round of the playoffs. Just seemed odd to me, but different strokes for different folks I assume.

But I can see small communities being excited if they are going to the sweet 16. But I do get where you’re coming from and agree with you more.

Regardless, shout out to Rapides Parish! Though I'm not a fan of these numerous broken brackets and byes all over the place, take advantage. Rapides Parish has 8 teams in the quarterfinals on the girls side. Peabody and Bolton will play each other for a trip to the semifinals and are joined by Northwood-Lena, Buckeye, Glenmora, Oak Hill, Plainview and Menard. Only other team in the parish to make the playoffs was ASH who lost by 9 to STM in the second round.

Buckeye got beat by 52 last night, which reinforces my point about celebrating mediocrity.
