Against EA he came in during a 0-0 game late 2nd quarter and they scored 17 straight points to go up 17-0 in under 3 minutes left in the 1st half. Against dutchtown he came in down 7-0 and a stale offense and scored all 13 of their points leading to Saturdays continuation. Against Destrehan he came in and led them to two straight touchdowns in under 3 minutes to give them a 21-7 lead after a tie game. Yet you want to pick 1 game out of 14 and blow it up as some macro example. Deceitful. Every QB has a bad game. EVERY qb. You take his production out of those games mentioned they are no different than last night. I can always tell those who don't watch poop and who does. Those who follow programs and those who don't. Kid has come in ALL season and led zachary on multiple scoring drives. As for Brantley he was the best player on the field last night. That 1st possession after halftime he looked and played better than at any point all season. Kid grew up fast and showed out for his team and program. Also #8 played better than he did all season. OL PR better than they have all year as well. Ruston played very well on offense in 2nd half. Credit to the entire staff. I know zachary left point on the field. The aforementioned games prove it. EA would have been 0-0 at half. Against Destrehan 7-7 at half. And dutchtown 0 points at half. Zachary never once mixed it up in the most important game of the season. Kid has proven he can play. Proven it. There is no discussion there or debate. It cost them points last night to those who know how he plays. Did it cost them the game? No. Two undisciplined penalties while Ruston was beginning to reel did. 9 yard run down to rustons 29 yard line or so with a tie game and then a selfish USlike penalty destroyed the drive. Next possession a big 3rd down stop for a field goal attempt was negated by a stupid selfish push in the back clearly after the play was over by #32. #13 didn't cost zacharh the game either. It isn't his fault whatsoever the staff chose to place him in spots like that. It's their job to make adjustments and change things. It wasn't boldens fault in 2017 when the staff refused to put kahmann in late as well. I'm just pointing out that in their biggest game they never did what they did all season long and worked, mix up their offense to what the defense is showing. Gonzales makes throws the other doesn't and sees the field differently as well. It was bunk coaching. And it cost them along with the unsportsmanlike penalties that were huge. That's all I will say left on the subject. Ruston won convincingly and offense was the best all season with Brantley playing exceptional. Ruston is back and not going anywhere and will be as good next year as well. Very happy for Ruston community and all. I love the program and community. Virtually none of what you said is true, but that’s fine. As a fan of Baton Rouge football, I hope he is incredible because I want the 225 to win titles. Also, you sit here and rail on a coaching staff that has won 4 titles in like 9 years. Lmao. Logictrumpsemotion > David Brewerton I guess. Literally everything I said was true. Everything. Every single word I said is true. Liar and despicable. We are finished. And he's, logic Trumps brewerton here. Good luck with no QB next season.

No it wouldn’t have. Gonzales seems like a nice enough kid, but he is too small to play 5A football. St. Aug, who went 2-8, almost killed him. He could not move the ball at all. One thing he is right about though is Zachary’s scheme. They did nothing with Holstein last year. It’s not a QB problem, it’s a scheme problem. They have got to address it. Against EA he came in during a 0-0 game late 2nd quarter and they scored 17 straight points to go up 17-0 in under 3 minutes left in the 1st half. Like I said, Zachary’s problems are scheme related and I have 0 doubt they will tidy it up in the off-season because David Brewerton is one of, if not the best coach in Louisiana

Honest question: Do you think Spangler was the reason Zachary lost this game? Seriously? I actually thought he played much better last night than he did in the quarterfinal win over Destrehan. At what point in the game would you have pulled Spangler, and for what reason? Zachary sold out to stop the run and did a tremendous job contained Jordan Hayes and Dylone Brooks. Josh Brantley, who you have criticized incessantly, stepped up and made huge play after huge play with his legs and his arm. Ruston's coaches adjusted to what Zachary was doing well. That's why Zachary lost, not because of Hudson Spangler or Caleb Gonzales. They have got to address it. lol you not talking about St Aug like they were an average 2-8 team 😂

So let me help you. 12 has come in for the 2nd quarter all year. That’s it. He played 0 meaningful snaps in the 2nd half of any game. He got his chance to run the show against St. Aug and couldn’t move the ball. He was getting eaten alive. He’s just too small. Ball doesn’t have zip. Throws a great screen. He should really be playing baseball. Anyways, give some credit to Ruston. That’s a hell of a football team, and it was a hell of a game.

Size don’t matter. Kid proved that all year. All what Logic states was facts. We watched film. Very accurate, quick release and finally threw 1 pick last week. Actually I believe he was sacked 1 time all season cuz he can escape the pocket. I believe he was probably close to an 80% passer.
St Aug game seems to be the only bad brought up, but there were a few dropped balls. Where is the other bad?
But y’all know what. It doesn’t matter. They got their asses handed to them last night. No one is to blame except the offense scheme. It’s terrible and outdated.
Season over. Move on.
Ruston is King and will be for another year.

It was bad with Holstein. It just looks slow. Not sure there’s any other way to describe it.

Here's all I'll say about the Zachary QB situation. I didn't follow them all season long. I saw the Destrehan game and the Ruston game. I didn't see what y'all saw when I watched Gonzales with my own eyes. Against Destrehan, I thought Spangler was the better QB but neither were very good. Against Ruston, I thought Spangler played a better game than he did against Destrehan and played well enough to win a state championship against a very good defensive team. Ruston made the adjustments and was better in the second half.
Maybe Gonzales proves y'all right next year and Zachary goes 14-0. I saw a team whose best offensive players (Green, George, Thomas and Broussard) are all graduating, which means Zachary is going to be rebuilding on offense.

My final opinion on this subject which everyone knows about in BR and the state. He won’t be back at Zachary. I hope he leaves to play for my for my buddy obviously. Either that or they move home. I’m biased cuz I wanna see him play for my buddy haha. My buddy warned them. They believed whatever Brew told them to convince him to go to Zachary and not other places before they moved. I know those conversations happened.
I think they stay if changes are made and he can throw the ball 30 times a game to showcase his arm like other undersized QBs (which do exist) Just watch CFB these days. The dude don’t need football anyways. He’s gonna end up at an Ivy League school, or a top 1% school either way. He’d probably pass up Small school football for academics anyways.
May God Bless everyone and have a Merry Christmas. Enjoy the time with family.
And pray for some saints wins

Good afternoon.
I heard there was some noise in this place, so I’m right on time. Let’s give some props to Zachary and Ruston for a great game. Zachary played as a team all year. They overcame quite a bit and both QBs played great when they needed to.
I always said I wouldn’t get on a dumb forum. I only signed up because people told me my son’s name was on a thread. So I had to see it.
I’m here to answer any questions people have.

Hit it right on the head man. And for as good of a coach as Brew is this isn’t out of the real for him. A few years ago there was a similiar situation Alex Millazo started the season as Qb over Keilon Brown. Luckily Brown was so much better that the situation didn’t prolong itself like this one. Not sure if Gonzales will leave but if he does Zachary will be in trouble. They’ll sugar coat it. I don’t think it was Brews choice. They made changes on defense last year and it worked. Now they need to over haul that offense. I mean, it was unproductive even with a bama commit. It’s 5 plays out of different looks. Zachary with a competent OC would be scary but Brew keeps sticking with his guy. I’ve felt for a while he wasn’t that great but year by year teams figure them out more and more

What were your thoughts of last nights game and how do you feel your son fits in to next years plan I’m here to answer questions. Zachary had chances. Ruston was better last night. Next year ? It’s day 1 after the season. My son is ready to go deer, duck, crane hunting, and visit family and friends back home.
