1.) Catholic (BR) 2.) Ruston 3.) STM 4.) LCA 5.) Acadiana 6.) Opelousas 7.) Calvary 8.) St. Charles 9.) Union 10.) St. James

I think STM resoundingly proved they are the best team in the state this year.
LCA and Ruston played a 3 point game at Ruston and STM beat LCA at LCA and then again at the dome. Watching all of those games, STM was better than Ruston (and everyone else I saw, which was…everyone). And STM beat Catholic head to head this year.
For the season (after STM), I’d say Ruston, Catholic, and LCA are the next 3 in some order.
Acadiana, Calvary, Zachary, Karr, Curtis, and Opelousas next in some order.
Just for this weekend? Oak Grove was the most impressive to me, relative to division.

I mean they were a few minutes away from putting up 0 in the 1st half before a late score and the pick 6. However, can’t argue with the head to head.

And that’s what the original question was about. But as far as the season goes, Catholic blew out Acadiana this weekend. LCA also blew out Acadiana. And as previously mentioned, STM beat Catholic. While LCA lost this weekend, they had something to do with STM not looking as good today. Yet STM had a 14 point win over an LCA team who’s only losses this season were to the Select D2 Champ (and best team in the state) STM and a 3 point road loss against Ruston who just became the NSD1 Champ….handily.

Yeah. I was thinking the same thing, but the bottom 2 instead of 3. Heck, the way lab played the last two weeks, I think they are in the conversation of the bottom 2 also.

You give that Ruston staff one week to prepare for any of these teams, they beat every one them soundly They had two weeks to prepare for Westgate and didn't beat them soundly. St. Thomas More didn't lose a game. Ruston did, although it's officially a win due to a forfeit.

1. Ruston 2. STM 3. Catholic, BR 4. LCA 5. Zachary 6. Acadiana 7. Calvary 8. Opelousas 9. St Charles Catholic 10. Union Parish
This would be my guess if all 16 teams played a tournament.

Oak Grove could easily be in this mix. Maybe but I understand why OG not in the top 10. Hopefully next year OG can prove themselves. I think they proved themselves with how dominant they were this weekend imo. Me and my dad (who has coached for 15 years and helped start the LCA football program in 2006) both agreed after the oak Grove game that they could play with a lot of the other teams from this weekend, especially the d3 schools. This was my first chance ti watch them play a full game and man were they impressive.

But understand why they didn’t make the top 10. But next year the defense is taking a hit but got some boys coming up that might surprise me and some folks

List is partial to the bigger schools. I would love to see OG vs SLab

Strictly going by run game blocking and play action/aggressive pass blocking, Oak Grove's O-line was among the top 5 O-lines in the Dome this weekend. Now, if you get into straight up pass blocking techniques and picking up stunts and blitzes and swapping off, etc.....we will never know because that's just not their game. If we are just talking about down and dirty, then I'd put Oak Grove's hogs up there with Ruston, Zachary, Acadiana, Opelousas and Union.
