Casey Gisclair runs it. He always seems to have the breaking news for the bayou and does a great job.

Advocate article said “player” but honestly not sure ok just asking. The other article says players. I’m thinking with a one year suspension it is multiple and not just one. That suspension reminds me of the old ncaa lack of institutional control penalty

is this from one or multiple players being ineligible? A friend of mine with Opelousas ties says multiple kids , the starting te is one. Apparently he was kicked out of OCS. Some at the school were aware and they have known since the start of the season. He also stated there was an issue with eligibility on last year's basketball team and Apparently there are calls for the coaches job.

Couple of years ago the basketball team was something like 30-2 and a top 3 team. Forfeited the entire season just before the playoffs because of over age players. So I can see why people around there would be hot about this.

Changing jersey numbers. Now that’s a bit far fetched

Man, I hope this isn't true about the ineligible player(s). They had such a tremendous season, to have it all wiped away.

This could be a potentially huge deal going into next season. If the ineligible players were underclassmen, they likely will (and should) be suspended for the upcoming season. I'm not going to speculate on who or how many were ineligible, but Opelousas certainly has some game-changers in this senior class that they don't want to lose for the 2024 season.

There’s not much I can say because of the open appeal, but I can say as reported by the news already… It’s one kid, right after the state championship game they had an investigation for 5 of our boys, all of them were deemed eligible… This kid in question is a freshman, who didn’t really play… It’s a matter of living with a domiciled parent… To think that ppl would just run and send their kids to play at Opelousas is ludicrous honestly given the nature of our city and school… There was only one jersey number switch because the kid grew in size over the course of the season… Please stop with the nonsense of all these ineligible kids, we only suited 40 kids, trust me if 12 were ineligible we would’ve never played in a state championship game, be for real…
