Has anyone taken a look at the o-line coach from Benton? His groups have been mauling people for the last 5 yrs. Think his name is Barnes. Would be a home run hire.

His lines have produced the leading rusher in Bossier history. Something to take a serious look at.

They’d be dumb not to give it to Tyler Hassell. Heckuva coach Over Brad Laird if he chose to apply? I know nothing about Hassell but I'd think Laird would be the guy they go after if he's interested. Just a quick look at the Natchitoches Central scores from this past season I wouldn't say that they were exactly setting the world on fire defensively.

Barnes is also a heckuva pole vault coach too and everyone knows pole vaulting success is essential to football success.

I see Natchitoches Central as an appealing job, a lot of potential there. I think if Jess stays then he builds a winner there over time, just can't blame him for heading to a program that is ready to win now. This job should get some attention

Lol…… I don’t blame Jess for getting out of there, he didn’t get the support and backing that they should’ve gave him, it’s political and when the principal thinks basketball is going to pay the bills then there’s definitely a problem.. I agree if Jess would’ve stayed he would’ve had more success this season but let’s not forget how the previous HC who also had NC going in the right direction was blackballed out of there by the principal. Yes, yes I went there.

A 5A job should with a new stadium, new fieldhouse, and lots of extras should garner a lot of attention and applicants. Heard Laird was the frontrunner for this one.

They no longer play at NSU? Natchitoches Central and St. Mary's have been trying to move away from using Turpin Stadium because it's so expensive to rent five times a year. NCHS had an on-campus field where they have added bleachers and a press box. I'm not sure if they've started playing varsity games there yet. St. Mary's was in the process of adding lights on campus to have games there.

I've been by the school and their facilities look very nice from the road. I know they don't have a stadium, per se, but as far as the new field house, two gyms, practice field/track/soccer field with nice bleachers, nice baseball and softball fields, great signage on all the buildings, it was totally not what I expected when I drove by there. I see that they are having a really good season in baseball so far and are #1 in power ratings in 5A, and their softball team is leading their district even though that is a pretty weak district in softball. They were runner up in boys basketball. I think their girls basketball made it to the quarters. It is just a mystery as to what the issue is in football.

Hearing Laird, current DC and the Head Coach at St Mary's are the only 3 horses in the race. May not be a lot of interest considering the last 6 or 7 years of turnover. Anyone else hearing any other names?

Anyone else hearing any other names? I would think Laird would be the front runner. Hassell (DC) will be a hell of a head coach one day. I don’t know if NCHS will give a guy his first HC job, but some school will and they will reap the rewards of it. York is an interesting applicant. He’s been at STM a long time and has had some successful teams over there. I just wonder how the STM people will take it if he leaves for NCHS. If those are the only 3 applicants there really isn’t a bad hire in the group.

What’s happened to the talk about this guy. Why wouldn’t we want the OL coach from a perennial 500 team to be our head coach. Yea. Go after this guy.

Hire an incredibly unsuccessful college coach who almost killed the program. What could go wrong??? When its obvious you have no idea what happened...I guess its what you should expect on a forum. “On November 5, 2023, Caldwell's parents filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the Quad Apartment Complex, where Caldwell lived and where the shooting occurred, and Laird.[6] According to the lawsuit, Caldwell was placed in an apartment with McIntosh, who was not attending college and had a history of legal trouble, after mold was found in Caldwell's original apartment.[7] The lawsuit also alleges that McIntosh pulled a gun on Caldwell three days before the shooting occurred. Caldwell then notified his father, Ronald, of the incident who then alerted Laird. Laird called Ronald, assuring him that he would immediately place Ronnie in a safe location”
