Excited for Coach Wilson. He's the kind of coach you would want your kids to play for. Very supportive and enthusiastic but will keep you in check with reality too. Wish him nothing but success!! Good Luck Coach.

I think we should be excited and congratulate some of these guys that takes these type of jobs. I mean the least he could do is try to get an uncompetitive team to competing

He probably is going to be better than what they had. Well…the guy before him took the Knights to the semi finals not long ago.

So North webster has a new head coach. Anyone have thoughts on the new hire? I've gotten to know Chris Wilson off the field over the past couple of years. He's a good dude. He works hard. He knows football. He got as much out of the Plain Dealing program as could be expected given what he had to work with, and he learned a whole lot the past two years working for Dennis Dunn. He had a whole lot to do with the success they had offensively as the run-game coordinator and OL coach. I don't know if he wins a state championship at North Webster, but he's going to run a program that community can be proud of and those kids will love being a part of.

He seems to be saying all the right things for the media and community. He seems to be stepping into a good situation with lots of returning starters coming off the best season in 4-5 years and a 2nd round playoff appearance. Certainly not a full rebuild type of scenario.
North Webster had some good runs, going to the semis once and the quarters a few more times, but during the height of that run always ran into away games against loaded Amite squads and could never get over that hump. After looking up the playoff brackets from the last 12 years, 5 times North Webster got beat by a team that made the championship, 4 more times they got beat by a team that lost in the semis, and only twice were they beat by a team that didn't make it to the semis. Once they didn't make playoffs at all. 9/12 years they were beat by a semi or dome bound team.

You can joke all you want, but sometimes the coach who goes 3-5 with less than 20 players did a better job than a coach who won a state championship.
